Breaking news......Great breaking news........ A few weeks ago we communicated we were considering a combined league with our friends at OWLL and after careful consideration we are pleased to announce that FELL & OWLL are now the combined Springfield Little League - pending final Little League approval. We anticipate Little Leagues approval within the month and before spring registration is open. The combination of leagues will benefit the entire Springfield community by prov...iding greater opportunities to all township residents and school students. This new partnership will offer league participants expanded facility options, access to larger volunteer support, more programs and expanded development opportunities. We are excited to combine our resources, participants, parents, supporters and volunteers for the coming 2021 season. We believe strongly that both of our leagues will be stronger as ONE! Right now, all official business is being conducted by Springfield Little League and we will immediately begin the process of merging the two leagues into one. Until that is complete please continue to use the OWLL or FELL websites for important updates and information. We will be providing weekly email updates on the merger status until it is complete and while there are sure to be some minor issues, we will work hard to make this process as seamless as possible. We appreciate your patience as we pull all the information together. Finally, if you are interested in volunteering for our new league or have any questions please reply to this email or contact any Board member. We will be happy to hear from you. Couldn’t be more proud of our FELL 8's. The boys lost a heart-breaker tonight under the lights but as always, they played like Champions. They have a bright future. Great team, great coaches and great families. Thanks for a great seaosn!

FELL/SBC Families - I wanted to take a few minutes and let you know about some important, upcoming projects to our FELL/SBC Minor League facility this November - and to ask you to consider helping us fund these important upgrades. Your support is always important and appreciated; but it is even more important now because a few of our long-time business sponsors BQ Basement, AB Property Management LLC and Halligan's Pub have generously pledged to help fund our project by matc...hing every dollar contributed by our FELL/SBC families and business sponsors - up to $10,000 and $15,000 respectively. With your help we can create a minimum of $45,000 to help fund these important improvements. Be we need to come through - please pass this on to any former players family, grandparents or anyone who simply loves baseball and may be interested in helping out. No amount is too small and every penny will be matched by our sponsors, so please contribute. Remember, your contribution will be a great investment in our community and is tax exempt. We would like to reach our goal by November 1st and begin the project by mid-November. Please act now. The Minor's facility improvement goals are focused on improving safety, playability, aesthetics and improving spectator viewing and will provide two first-class Major League quality fields. The improvements will include the following work: 1. The entire infield will be rebuilt, releveled and re-sodded to a larger and better playing surface. 2. The old, unsafe backstop will be replaced with a more attractive, safer and larger net backstop similar to the Major's net. 3. The old maintenance building directly behind home plate is being replaced with a smaller, new storage shed. 4. A new, level seating/bleacher area with better sightlines will be created for our families. 5. The old cinderblock dugouts will be replaced with brand new, open-air dugouts. 6. The scoreboard façade will be upgraded. 7. A new 10 foot high leftfield fence printed to look like a Major League wall with sponsors logo will be installed. 8. The existing rightfield fence will be removed and replaced by the existing batting cage fence. The batting cage fence will also be outfitted to look like a Major League outfield wall and printed with our sponsors logo. This is a very exciting project and we are confident the above work will be a great improvement and will set our facility apart - but this work cannot happen unless you help. The FELL 2020 in-house season concluded yesterday in grand style and while there weren't any trophies handed out yesterday - everyone associated with FELL should feel like a champion. Every player, mom and dad, grandma and grandpa, brother and sister, friends and neighbors were all winners yesterday. While not much in 2020 will be remember kindly, our FELL season certainly will. When our families and community needed us most, FELL delivered an amazing year for our kids. The... memories and friendships our boys and girls made this season will last a lifetime. That is what FELL is all about! So please join the FELL Board and tip your hat to all the amazing volunteers and families who helped make 2020 the best and most memorable season for our boys and girls could ask! And thank you all for supporting FELL - by far the best darn Little League around!

5/1/20 Update - Since its been roughly two weeks since we last updated you on the 2020 FELL baseball season, we thought it was a good time to send an email. First and importantly, we want you to know the FELL Board remains hopeful we will have a baseball season for our boys and girls this spring/summer at some point. As we all understand, it is not the time for baseball just yet - but we also understand it is important to be prepared whenever the authorities grant permission.... We are. Yesterday, Little League International announced that the annual summer classic Little League World Series was cancelled for the first time in history. Despite this devastating news, very little has actually changed for the local Little Leagues - including FELL. All baseball activities continue to be suspended until May 11th at the earliest. In addition, all Pennsylvanian's are under a state mandated Stay at Home order until May 8th at the earliest. Therefore the FELL season cannot begin prior to May 11th - although we strongly anticipate the suspension will remain in effect longer. Please be patient. We do not know exactly when state and local authorities will allow sports activities and social gatherings to resume but we continue to monitor and follow all pertinent state and local guidelines. We will update you with any new information as it becomes available. You can monitor important information as well at https://www.littleleague.org/ and https://www.governor.pa.gov/process-to-reopen-pennsylvania/. We understand some families will not feel completely safe whenever we are able to reopen - many of us will not. But we want you to know the FELL Board's primary responsibility will to be to keep our players, volunteers and families safe. To that end, in addition to any state or local requirement, the FELL Board is actively preparing best maintenance protocols and guidelines for COVID-19 while at FELL. We will make this document available for review prior to opening FELL again. If you have any suggestions, please reply to this email. Finally, the past few weeks have been very difficult on our entire community - especially our children - and we are all growing impatient and tired waiting to get to the "New Normal." Whatever the new normal looks like and whenever we get there, be assured it will include tons of smiles, laughter, life-long friendships and a summers worth of fun for everyone at FELL! The FELL Board and all of our great family volunteers and FELL friends will see to it that whatever the 2020 baseball season looks like, it will be memorable. Our community deserves it, and our families and kids have earned it, for sure. So please be patient and keep your fingers crossed - a summer at FELL is well worth the wait!
