3rd-5th grade Kids Club is this Sunday, 5/2, 3-4:30pm at Fort Washington State Park! Dwight and Kelly Evans will be leading us on a Spring nature walk. We’ll meet at the bird observatory. Wear your muddy shoes! It’s going to be a beautiful day for skipping rocks .

Kids Club and Middle School Youth Group went back to Hope Gardens to do some Spring clean up yard work. Weeding is not the most fun, truth be told. But, we talked about serving others because we love Jesus and because Jesus loves us, we live to serve and love others.

Do good, get rewarded, right? Well, not exactly. When we do good things for other people only to be praised and acknowledged, we take away from God's glory and seek that glory for ourselves. People might end up not even liking us or our good deeds if we only do them to gain attention! Chapter 42, Secretly Incredible, helps explain how we should do good things for other people and seek heavenly rewards rather than earthly praises.

Kids Club is back at Hope Gardens this Sunday, 4/25 from 3-4:30. This time, youth group will join us so we can accomplish even more! We’ll meet in the church parking lot and walk over together. Bring a rake if you have one!

We had planned a Nerf Battle for this Sunday’s Kids Club. We hoped the snow would meltHA! Would you be open to a change of plans? Sledding at Wissahickon Middle School? 3-4pm on 2/14? We’ll reschedule the Nerf Battle for warmer weather!... *Bring your own sled and please wear a mask.

This week's Sunday school lesson is from Love Does--Chapter 9: The Unicycle. This chapter reminds us of the story of Moses who felt utterly unworthy and unprepared to lead God's people out of Egypt. But, he listened to God and he did it anyway! God used Moses to do extraordinary things! Let us, too, do extraordinary things with the gifts God has given us! When we feel unprepared and like we might fail, let us ask for guidance so we may follow the path set for us despite our fear and doubts.

Kids Club did an amazing job cleaning up the Inter-Faith Housing Alliance lawn at Hope Gardens front lawn! Parents, they’re really good at yard work so just keep that information handy when you need some help . We learned about the Inter-Faith Housing programs which is always so helpful. To truly understand who we are helping makes the service that much more special. And to make everything even better, the kids found their artwork in the hallway hung years ago during Sunday school. So awesome! Our next Kids Club will be held on 2/14 and it will be a fun one! Stay tuned!
