Join us for worship online or in-person this morning at 10:45 am (EST). Pastor Tom will be preaching on Hebrews 4:12-16 and John 5:31-47 with a sermon entitled "Testimony". Here are some questions for reflection: What do you believe about scripture? Reflect on this and describe in your own words. Do you pick and choose which verses you believe and which you don’t? ... Do you take some verses more seriously than others? How do you choose? From this passage, what do you think Jesus thinks of scripture? For the safety of all during worship services, if you will be attending in-person, please wear a mask and observe social distancing. We encourage you to fellowship outdoors after the service, as our hospitality time has not yet returned. We look forward to having you join us!

You shouldn’t believe me, Jesus said, If I just make claims about myself. Now that sounds odd. Doesn’t the Gospel of John claim that Jesus is the Word spoken at creation? The Word become flesh? How can Jesus not be credible? But it turns out that Jesus always has others backing him up, always making his claims real to our hearts and minds.... http://intersectionfpcp.com/2021/04/30/lord-of-scripture/

Are you looking for a job or know of someone who needs a job? Maybe it is someone in our community, a friend or relative that is moving here, or someone who is graduating and/or transitioning out of another position. Our community partner, Fogo de Chão, is hiring in all positions! (Go to fogodechao.com/careers to apply.) Our office manager, Alyssa Miville, enjoys working as both a hostess and a server on the weekends, in addition to her work at the church. Feel free to reach ...out to Alyssa, or Fogo's area manager, Jacob Dragon, with any questions! Did you know that our partnership with Fogo bloomed at the start of the pandemic last spring? One of our dedicated Tuesday night volunteers made the connection, and by the fall, Fogo ended up partnering with us for our special annual event, Ryan's Night to Remember! They treat their customers like we treat our guests: with the attention and care they deserve. We know how much support restaurants need right now, so we are happy to offer our support, just as they have done for us! (As a reminder to all of our congregants: You can take your bulletin after worship on Sundays and receive 20% off your meal at Fogo! Exceptions are holidays and when using other Fogo promos.) Feel free to share this post to spread the word!

Join us for virtual worship on Sunday at 10:45 AM for our weekly worship service! In his sermon, "The Lamb of God", Rev. Tom Hall will explore how Jesus was referred to both as "the Lamb of God" and The Good Shepherd. How can Jesus be both lamb and shepherd? What does this mean to us? Before Sunday, feel free to reflect on the following:... Referring to John 1:1-8, what did John the Baptist say about himself? List some of the things John the Baptist said about Jesus. What does John mean when he says of Jesus, "Look, the Lamb of God, who takes away the sin of the world!

When Arland Williams buckled into his seat on that snowy night on in Washington, DC, he had no idea that the defining moment of his life was just moments away. Surely, he was anxious to get back home. Perhaps he was becoming impatient, along with the other passengers and crew, over still another delay, even after their Boeing 737 had to be deiced a second time.... http://intersectionfpcp.com/2021/01/29/pass-the-rope/

When I was growing up in the 60’s, my Dad and I used to talk a lot about money. Actually, he would talk, and I would listen. Dad was a pharmacist, and he and his two partners ran the corner drug store near our home. It was a classic old place with a marble soda fountain. The store provided for a decent living for the three men and their families, the delivery man and his family, and several clerks.... http://intersectionfpcp.com//11/13/when-dad-paid-the-bills/

The Pew Research Center recently released the results of a study which said that four out of ten registered voters do not have a single close friend who supports the candidate of the other political party. The results were almost identical for Democrats and Republicans. We’re not only divided by our political beliefs; we’re divided in our relationships too. Thankfully, this is not the biggest problem in the church I serve. [ 215 more words ] http://intersectionfpcp.com/2020/11/06/divided/
