Two years ago I graduated from Texas A&M University. In the months leading up to graduation, as my friends were applying for jobs and grad school, I wasn’t. When people asked me my plans I nervously told them I was going to pursue my photography business, add marketing services, and continuing working alongside Nolan in the auction business. I was confident in myself and my decision, and never had a doubt I would succeed. But I was nervous to tell people my plans because I kn...ew they wouldn’t live up to a lot of expectations. I just graduated from THE Texas A&M, and I was doing what??? Believe me, I was faced with a lot of doubt. I came back home to Pennsylvania and started working as a full time business owner in the middle of December... when literally NO ONE wants their photo taken because it’s freezing. It was also our slower time in the auction business. But that just lit a fire under me to hustle harder, I had no choice but to figure it out. Since then I’ve done over 25 weddings, I added a videographer to my team, photographed countless families, helped brands to market their products and services, and worked alongside my husband every day to grow our auction company. I have my fair share of bad days... I mean a large part of my income comes from wedding photography and we’re in the middle of a freaking pandemic... Some days I think about how much simpler and less stressful my life could be if I worked a 9-5, but I once heard someone say, never quit your dream on a bad day. If you’re going to quit, quit on a good day. The last two years have been beyond rewarding, and at the same time, beyond hard. At the end of every day, I know it’s worth it. I painted on my graduation cap the song lyrics I guess if you don’t jump you’ll never know if you can fly. Well, here’s to another year of learning how to fly!
