Garden of Reflection 9/11 Memorial

Regardless of hurricane DELTA, we stayed UNITED! Our 17th Annual Golf Classic scheduled for yesterday at the beautiful Jericho National Golf Club has been postponed for one week to Monday, October 19th. Great day for the Social Distancing edition of the annual 5k run

It appears someone thought it funny to add soap suds to the fountains. This act was very disrespectful but fortunately didn’t cause any major damage but did create a lot of time and effort from the township to address it. We appreciate our communities’ heartfelt comments regarding this sad occurrence. The Garden is a place of reverence and is no place for disturbed individuals with no respect for a 9-11 Memorial. Rather than further the attention to the individual who did th...is, we could highlight the summer work that was made available through grants for The Garden Revitalization project to restore the memorial, the Oak Garden Arboretum, the Flag Circle and the entrance to the park. The Bucks County Technical High School students, worked in the heat and humidity of the summer days, weeding, mulching, power washing, cut down compromised trees and branches and more, bringing the park to its original pristine condition. On Monday September 14th and for the days that follow, we will work with a very generous donation from a company called Porous Pave. They have donated about $125,000 worth of permeable walkway surface that will be installed in the walkway in the back of the Garden and throughout all of the Oak Garden Arboretum! This will also make the walkways a handicapped accessible walk with benches along the way offering a peaceful place to rest. We also appreciate the work of the volunteers who helped me for two weeks to refurbish all the letters on the steel plaques throughout the memorial and the folks from Megellan who volunteered a day of workers last week in preparation for the anniversary. We thank all the volunteer efforts for the Remembrance Fund endowment fundraising to preserve the memorial in perpetuity. We are having our 17th Annual 5K on September 13th and Golf Classic on October 12th. These events bring much needed funds for the endowment. Our goal is to be fully funded for the 20th anniversary of the attacks on our nation. Proud supporters who donate over $2,500 will forever be remembered on new endowment donor plaques. We thank all of you, our community, our volunteers, and all who donate to make our memorial a peaceful place where we all can visit to remember and honor those we lost on September 11th.
