Santa is coming in 1 week! Things may look a little different this year, we will do everything we can to keep this tradition going. Santa will be escorted through the neighborhood on the fire truck and will have treat bags for every kid who comes to see him. ... This video has been posted ...as per consent of the victims & family to promote pedestrian safety and situational awareness as it pertains to drivers when operating a vehicle in a pedestrian rich environment. With that in mind, please remember that Halloween is only a few weeks away and drivers need to be extra cautious. This collision occurred within the past month at the intersection of Washington Avenue and Hickman Street. The date and time showing on the video are not correct. The driver of the vehicle was focused on the two pedestrians that did not cross the street. The victims did not wish to pursue criminal charges against the driver. Only traffic citations were issued. in the past 10 years there have been 17 pedestrians involved collisions in Bridgeville. Out of the 17 reported collisions there have been zero fatalities, three life-threatening injuries (all three survived), four major injuries, eight minor injuries and three instances of no injuries. It was determined that in nine of the collisions, the drivers were found to be at fault. In five of the collisions the pedestrians were found to be at fault. In three of the collisions both drivers and pedestrians shared fault. The laws pertaining to driver and pedestrian responsibilities will be posted in the comments. See more
