Did you know? If you have already filed your taxes, you can check on the status of your federal tax refund by visiting this website: https://www.irs.gov/refunds. Most taxpayers receive their refund within a few weeks after filing. But if you have not yet received your refund after 2 to 3 weeks you can check on the status of your refund using the above link. Please note that this only applies to your normal tax refund for your 2019 income taxes. For information about the Economic Impact Payment that American taxpayers will receive as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic, please see this special IRS website: https://www.irs.gov/coronavirus

Update Regarding the 2020 Tax Filing and Payment Deadlines: The filing and payment deadlines for personal income tax returns have both been extended to July 15, 2020. This applies to both federal income taxes as well as state income taxes for the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. Other states may have different filing deadlines, so if you live in a state other than Pennsylvania, be sure to check on your state's filing requirements. For those that owe money, your payments to the... IRS, the state of Pennsylvania, and your Pennsylvania local taxes are now all due by July 15, 2020. For taxpayers receiving a refund, your tax refunds will be processed after your returns have been filed electronically or by mail. We are continuing our work to try to get as many tax returns prepared and filed as soon as we possibly can, even with the extended filing deadline, so that anyone getting a tax refund can receive it as soon as possible.

Payments are now due July 15, 2020, but the filing deadline has not been changed.... We wanted to help clear up this common misconception as we continue to work to try to get as many tax returns prepared as possible before the filing deadline.
