Grandview United Methodist Church, 888 Pleasure Road, Lancaster, is seeking to fill the position of Youth Director and to have the hire begin work on February 1, 2021. This is a part-time position, approximately 18-20 hours per week, including Sundays. Weekly hourly breakdown may vary. Grandview is a growing, 500-member congregation with a Methodist-influen...ced, biblically-grounded theology of putting love into action. We actively work to dismantle racism and are open and affirming toward LGBTQI+ people. With people of all ages and abilities, we practice a thinking faith that values questions. The person in this role must be supportive of the church’s mission and direction. They should be a person who places a premium on relationships, is open and affirming, can work on multiple projects with a variety of staff and volunteers, is a problem solver, is creative, seeks out on-going learning opportunities and spiritual renewal for self and youth, and understands the important role youth play in the life of the church. Effective communication is necessary with youth, families, staff, and volunteers. Candidates with experience, background and training in youth work, education (including teaching experience), and theology are preferred. They should also be a person who is highly creative, easily engages with others, and understands the important role media content plays in the church’s ministry. Knowledge of Mac products and use of social media platforms is highly beneficial. For consideration for this position, candidates should submit a resume, a work reference, and examples of youth/teaching lessons, plans, or event organization work, if available.
