The Greater Johnstown United Neighborhoods is partnering with Coaches for Kids, Career Link and volunteers, to help repair the playgrounds and bring back playgr...ound activities with coaches. This is a pilot project with three City of Johnstown playgrounds, with the expectation to expand to other playgrounds in the future. The three city playgrounds are Wood Street playground in Hornerstown; Park Avenue playground in Moxham; and the playground at Roxbury Park. Start date is June 24th, until school starts in August. There will be attendants and volunteers at these playgrounds from 11-4, Monday-Friday. The program will have games, crafts, special visitors, sport clinics, and snacks. In addition, the Greater Johnstown United Neighborhoods is raising funds to equip the playgrounds with new/repair equipment, repairs and maintenance. This initiative will include all the City playgrounds. This program is an awesome way to support your neighborhood playground, or one that you played at and spent time as a child. The ADOPT A PLAYGROUND campaign is about our children and the community and an inexpensive way to show your support. Every dollar and volunteer hour counts.
