He is risen! He is risen indeed! Something we say a lot during this time of year. Easter is the day we celebrate the Resurrection of Jesus Christ. This took place on the third day after his crucifixion. Many people were present that day when Jesus was crucified. Jerusalem was busy with all the travelers making their way to and from the city, it was the annual Passover celebration. There were many that witnessed the crucifixion first hand; Chief priests, scribes and elders, t...he Centurion and Roman soldiers, the two criminals that were crucified with Jesus, not to mention his own mother and the disciples that had followed him. There were many that witnessed the resurrection as well. The bible records Mary Magdalene, Simon Peter, the two disciples on the road to Emmaus, ten of the disciples and then again including Thomas. The Gospels record that more than 500 people had witnessed the risen Christ. An eyewitness is a person who has personally seen something happen and so can give a firsthand description of it. The testimony of these eyewitnesses have been told over and over again. We are eyewitnesses too! We know Jesus is alive! He works and moves in our lives and we see firsthand the miracles He performs. We must be willing to tell others that we have seen the risen Christ! He is risen!! He is risen indeed! Let’s pray: Father, we are so thankful for the risen Christ. Thank you for the witnesses who have shared the resurrection throughout time. May we be willing to share our testimony of seeing you risen and living and moving in our lives. In Jesus’ name. Amen. John 11:25-26, I am the resurrection and the life. He who believes in Me, though he may die, he shall live. And whoever lives and believes in Me shall never die. Do you believe this? John 15:26-27, When the Advocate comes, whom I will send to you from the Father - the Spirit of truth who goes out from the Father - he will testify about me.
