As always we will be ready and willing to respond, but our volunteers would much rather you be safe then in need our assistance! If your kids are looking for something to do tomorrow in the snow, we encourage them to make fireman snowmen and post them to our page!

Earlier this evening crews were dispatched for a head on collision on Rt 19 adjacent to Burger King. While en route, Butler 911 updated Fire and EMS of a patient still in the vehicle that was unresponsive. Upon the arrival of our Rescue, EMS had just initiated patient contact on the driver of one of the vehicles. Our crews assisted EMS in patient care and packaging. The patient was transported from the scene within 20 minutes of dispatch. We cannot stress enough how important... that is. Getting patients from an incident and to a hospital within an hour of the traumatic event occurring drastically increases chances of survival. Our area is truly blessed to have amazing emergency agencies that work so well together. Interagency mingling and cooperation is encouraged by all emergency departments in our first due. Because of that, Police, Fire and EMS are able to show up at any scene and operate as one single unit. This mindset pays dividends to the communities we serve as it leads to the best patient care possible. Last night at the our monthly business meeting we held our election for officers for the 2021 year. Thanksgiving is the busiest day for kitchen fires of the year and as much as we enjoy serving the community, we want you to be safe, and we want to enjoy our dinners with our families as well! This has been a crazy year for all of us. Harmony Fire District is thankful for the unwavering support the community we serve as 100% volunteers has shown us throughout the year. We have faced significant challenges as we have dealt with COVID-19 and will continue to meet those challenges head on with a smile on our face. We could not do what we do without your support!

This evening for training we virtually conducted SAFER JOG drills giving our members some sets & reps being the first arriving officer at a fire scene.

The truck, rescue, and rescue engine spent the evening driving around the first due patrolling the areas trick-or-treating and handing out candy to all the scary monsters and beautiful princesses! We even met a couple future firefighters along the way!

At 1432 today, the Harmony Fire District was alerted for an automatic fire alarm in Jackson Twp. Upon arrival of Jackson Twp Police the cause was determined to be a loaf of bread that was ignited on a stovetop, after the burner was turned on accidentally by a pet. Engine 22-4 was requested to assist the homeowner with ventilation. This is the second incident in two days where early detection and action prevented an incident from getting much worse. Please do not store combustible materials on a stovetop and check your smoke detectors!

At 0908 the Harmony Fire District was alerted for an Automatic Fire Alarm at New Haven Court in Zelienople Borough. While responding, Butler County 911 updated that there were multiple smoke detectors activated. Zelienople Police arrived on scene first, they advised a lamp shade had caught on fire and was extinguished by a staff member. Engine 22-4 arrived on scene and verified there was no further damage. Without the quick action of the staff, this incident could have been much worse. Many thanks to the staff for their quick response!

This evening the organization continued roll in drills with a fire simulator at the Cranberry Public Safety Training Facility. The scenarios included engine & truck company operations while following the SAFER JOGs.

This morning 90,51,70,26 were alerted for a possible fire at a local laundromat. It was found to be a bag of rags from a local business that had spontaneously combusted due to the chemical reaction between the products.

Milwuakee Tool Raffle Reveal!

Last night at 1020 the HFD and mutual aid were alerted for a structure fire in Rock Lake estates. The Zelienople Police were first on the scene and reported a fire in the kitchen area. The fire was visible from the front of the home so the police utilized an extinguisher on it to control it from outside of the residence. The Police Departments action kept the fire in check until the responding apparatus arrived to finish extinguishing the fire and perform overhaul. The Police Department made a significant difference in the preservation of property and kept the fire contained to the kitchen. Our priorities when we arrive on the scene are 1) Preservation of life 2) Preservation of property. Thank you for the assistance from EMS, Police, and mutual aid fire agencies.
