Heather's Home: New Life Vintage

So I haven’t been active for quite some time. My apologies. I took a sabbatical from doing projects for a bit. Over the holiday weekend I did a personal project in honor of Memorial Day. My own personal permanent American flag. I hung it on the back fence in my back yard. This was an old wood gate I got for free off of Craig’s list. It measured 6’ tall x 4’ wide. I turned it on it’s side and used exterior paint I had on hand already and painted it rustic style. I wanted the wood grain to show thru to make it look like it’s been around a while.

Almost done. It looks almost the same. But the table and seats are darker. Not so red. And the chair legs and table legs are now painted instead of stained. They were a bit beat up when I bought the set. Water stains and chips in the wood needed repaired. Now this set will be given a new home with a great family.
