Hemlock Farms Vol. Fire and Rescue Co.

We would like to say thank you to all the Telecommunicators from Pike County, Hemlock Farms Public Safety and all around the country.

Last night at 18:30 hrs. 16 members of the Hemlock Farms Vol. Fire & Rescue Co. started out with routine checks of the equipment & trucks. Once these chores were done there was the briefing of the Season we are in for Brush / Wildland fires. Members then went over the Brush Truck and Side by Sides tools and equipment. We ended the night off with digging a Fire Line, Back Pack Blowing a Fire Line, Indian Tanks and running the pumps and hose line layout. Members wrapped up by 21:00 hrs.

The members of the Hemlock Farms Vol. Fire and Rescue Company extend our condolences and our thoughts and prayers to the Spring Valley Fire Department and to the family of Firfighter Jared Loyd. Firefighter Loyd tragically lost his life while saving numerous other lives at fire located in an assisted living home. It took nearly 24 hours to locate Firefighter Loyd after he went missing. Fifighter Loyd selfless act and bravery will not be forgotten. Rest In Peace Brother.

The Hemlock Farms Volunteer Fire & Rescue is Extending my Sincerest Sympathies to the Brothers & Sisters at Department 17, Spring Valley Fire Department, Rockland County, NY, L.O.D.D. of a member of Columbian Engine Company who is missing/presumed dead while attempting to rescue occupants of a Senior Living at a major fire last night/early this morning.
