Hickory Town Place

This makes this past year all worth it!! Hosting your home can be a lot of work and scary business. This popped up on my Airbnb host page today and it helps to know that I am doing the right things. Some areas do not like Short-term Rentals in a neighborhood setting and some communities are actually banning them because they can cause problems if they are not properly managed. My goal right from the start was to be able to provide a nice, Lancaster City neighborhood experi...ence for visitors (and neighbors with family coming into town). We have a wonderful neighborhood where you can sit on the front porch and passing neighbors will say hello or stop to talk. We are close enough to walk downtown, yet far enough away from all the noise and bustle of center city activities. Many of my neighbors have helped with the house and are very understanding and considerate of my guest. I make sure my guests are also as understanding and considerate of our neighborhood and so far, it has been great for all of us. I love getting to know my guests and love even more, helping them plan a great Lancaster experience. We are blessed to have a really great city, and now that we are starting to open up again, people want the kind of experience we can offer. Thank you to my neighbors, my guests and especially to my family and friends for making this opportunity a success!!

With so many travelers needing to work from home, we decided to create this special home office space that allows you to enjoy city life while you work!! Most of our guests have been working downstairs, but this new space gives you the privacy you may need as well as a little city ambience.

As we move into this (14) day social distancing period, small businesses around the world are really suffering because no business is coming in. I am fortunate that I have a full-time job where I can work from home, paychecks keep coming in and I can keep paying my bills. This new Airbnb business will certainly suffer for a while too, but I have faith and am confident that business will be good again soon.... In the meantime, if any of you are nurses or doctors that may need to be close to the hospital, or if you know of any medical professionals that would be looking for temporary, short-term housing close to the hospital, as they gear up for the wave of patients to come, reach out to me. Looking for something really different and special to do in the city? How about 1920’s Swing Dancing? It’s a weekly event through March, right here in the city and just looks like a really fun filled night! Don’t know how to Swing Dance, they have a crash swing course from 8:15 to 8:30 (yes, that’s all you need) to get you warmed up!
