Pitt German 01.11.2020

Campus Weeks come to a close with our annual commemoration ceremony of the so called Kristallnacht of 1938 - the Night of Broken Glass, a pogrom against Jews carried out by SA militia and civilians throughout Nazi Germany on the night of November 9th. Please join the us - the Jewish Studies Program and the German Department, friends and allies - on this day of remembrance and resilience. Registration link: https://buff.ly/3lab3oR

It was amazing to see with how much passion out students engaged with this year’s Campus Weeks topic: Diversity in Germany today. They presented work on a wide range of subjects. From Jewish life before and after WWII over BLM Germany and LGBTQ+ rights to Turkish immigration and disability - everything was thoughtfully researched and well presented. Thank you so much! And congratulations to our wonderful winners: Pauline Deely , Jocelyn Baker, Ann Fleming, Gemma Wilson, Liam... Leary, Gina Casato, Natalie Brady, Rachel Holt, Claire Michael and their collaborators! Thanks also to Viktoria Harms & Jaclyn Kurash for organizing and facilitating the event! @germanyinusa #campusweeks2020 #upittgerman

Come celebrate campus weeks with us! The German Embassy has provided swag and other items to commemorate our online event series this fall. If you are on campus tomorrow, November 6, make sure to see us at Schenley Quad to get some free stuff! (The water bottles are amazing!) @GermanyinUSA #campusweeks2020 #upittgerman
