Teacher's Corner Our hot tip comes from HVS Vocal Faculty member Caitlin Carlisle! "You never know until you try. And I mean honestly, try. Sure, your voice may crack. And it is absolutely going to sound funny! We’ll all have a good laugh about it. But if you don’t try, it won’t change. Take the leap!"... #Teacherscorner #teacherlife #HVSfamily #practicemakesprogress #taketheleap #leapoffaith @mcekeiki

Meet The Cast Liz Ambrose, HVS Piano Instructor Where did you grow up?... I grew up in a tiny area called Eighty Four, which is a rural area outside of Washington Pennsylvania. What was your favorite Holiday tradition as a child? My father’s side of the family, the Ambrose’s, are from the southern region of Italy. Every Christmas, all the families come together to celebrate a huge dinner called The Feast of the Seven Fishes. Some traditional dishes consist of Baccala, fried smelts, baked cod, and calamari. The food is amazing, and more importantly we all get to celebrate together as one, big family. What do you like most about music? What continues to amaze me is how powerful music is. Working in the field of music therapy and teaching at the studio, I have the privilege to see this almost every day. It takes on many different forms, but everyone gets to experience this in their own unique way. No matter what challenges and troubles I face in my life, music is always there for me. That power and influence I feel playing piano or simply listening to music is something special and incomparable. What hobby would you want to pick up but haven't yet? I would love to learn how to tap dance. I used to play for dance classes at Slippery Rock University and was always amazed with watching the dancers. In addition, I’ve always loved watching older movies with great actors like Fred Astaire who would make tap dancing look effortless! Look out for more of our amazing staff to appear on our socials! #meetthecast #HVSstaff #Admin
Who else spent the whole day recreating their favorite arias with these blobs? Just me?
