Congratulations to Rod Flick from Rimersburg, for making a hole in one on #9 this morning with a 7 iron! His witnesses were Don McNaughton of Brookville and Tim Knepshield of Knox!
Today we remember one of our golfers who had played at Hi-Level since the course began in 1965. When Jerome's obituary read that he will be missed and remembered for his caring, loving, and giving of himself, we agree. Although he was in his eighties at the time, he still golfed regularly on the practice course, and one day after Dad's passing stopped to put an offering on Dad's grave. Jerome had sawed off part of a golf ball so that it wouldn't roll off. The world needs more people like you, Jerome, though you were one of a kind...
Hi-Level's men's league will start Thursday, May 6th. Due to the popularity of this league, we have added a senior division for players 60 years and older. Teams consist of two players, playing a match play format against another two man team, with weekly skill prizes and skins game. For questions, or to register your 2-man team, please call Mindy at 814-797-1813 before April 30th.

The driving range is open for the season!
Picnic area for group outings-- In about 10 years that would become 4 fairway.
Sunday School picnic sometime in the mid-1950s. What is now 4 fairway was then a picnic area.
Slide photo of the ditches to the right of 4 fairway. No date, but it must have been before 1958 because you can see on the right the barn is not painted.
Could be Grandpa Ed 4th from the left, but definitely Uncle Harry behind him. Maybe waiting for the school bus, sometime in the 1920s.
The ditch is finished on Stonehouse Road where it meets Hi-Level Lane, in 1969.
Ladies' Day event 1979.
Long before he was a golf course man, Ed Hess was doing this. Some of the photos that he had in a spiral-bound album, probably from the 1930s-1940s--
Here's what was going on in Fern in 1971: Workers building the Sunday School building at Fern Trinity Church (on the slide it's written that one of them is R. Kenemuth). Planter by the barn. And 14 green as the sun is setting in the west.
Different kinds of winter fun, same hill #4--January 1959 and January 2021.
Grandpa Ed holding probably a niece and nephew. Sometime in the 1920s.
