According to the National Restaurant Association, the industry has lost more than 3 million jobs and $25 billion in sales since March 1st. They say that 30% of... restaurants will not open because of this shutdown. Slippery Rock Borough and Township boast 20 restaurants/eateries. Many more retail stores, hair salons, nail salons, and the like. They make up a large majority of our local economy. Imagine if 30% of our businesses in town had to close their doors forever. Since January 1st, 2018, 11 new businesses have opened in Slippery Rock and provided over 100 new jobs to our community. The 12th and 13th new businesses are unable to open because of this shutdown. It makes me sick to think of the immense progress we have made and the many jobs made available turn to hundreds of Slippery Rock residents unemployed, relying on food banks and schools to help feed their children, and futures destroyed. I am and will continue to be unapologetic and passionate in this fight. We need to reopen PA in line with CDC and CISA guidelines and soon. Otherwise, our local economy may never recover.

We would like to thank everyone for their continued support of our locally owned business's. At this time we know there are a lot of people struggling at the expense of politics. With that being said, we want everyone to know that you will not be required to wear a mask or gloves when entering any of our 3 locations in Slippery Rock, Karns City, and Rimersburg. We will also not require any of our employees to wear them either. Please use common sense. We do not want anyone to get sick. If you don't feel comfortable with this, our suggestion is to stay home. Our store hours have not changed and will not change in the foreseen future. Again thank you for your continued support and stay safe.
