Well here we go with the snow storm of 2020. We hope you all are home safe and settled in. We got the trucks chained up with hopes we don’t need to go out but time will tell. Please only travel as needed and watch out for all the plow trucks and people with snow blowers. Also if you plow your snow a crossed the road at the end of your driveway please try to clean the road up and do not leave piles of snow in the lanes. We hope you have a great night and be safe if you head into work in the morning.

Happy Monday everyone. Hop Bottom pumper tanker was dispatched last night on a second alarm structure fire box in Springville township on Stark Rd. We arrived on scene and set up dump tanks to supply the working units with a tanker operator. Great job by everyone and thank you all for all the hard work.

Good morning everyone. Well like everything else in 2020 no one knows what the upcoming storm will bring. We just ask that you please be safe out there and use common sense. If you don’t need to go out on the roads please don’t. If you have shoveling to do try and do it a few times while it’s snowing to keep from having to move it all at once. Another big issue with a lot of snow is heater vent stacks could become covered and cause issues with your heating system. We will be putting tire chains on the PT and the squad we will also be putting our extra EMS bag in the utility to run if needed. We hope you all have a great rest of the week and be safe.

With the holiday season here and everyone decorating please use caution when running cords and plugging things in try not to over load one circuit. Try to split it up between outlets if you can. Now that the light parade is over and the tree lighting is done we took the lights off the trucks and put them up on the hall. Thank you to everyone that helped with this tonight. ... Hey all our amazing friends. Tonight we welcome a new little guy to our neighborhood. Hop Bottom Harford and Nicholson fire companies along with a ton of personal vehicles joined in the parade to welcome Donny William Richmond to his new home. I have to say the best part about doing these parades is when you see the smiles on the children’s faces. It really makes up for so many of the bad calls we deal with. Thank you all for being apart of the parade and congratulations to Donny and his family.

Good evening our amazing community and friends. Tonight Hop Bottom Engine was on a special assignment. The crew picked Santa up and took him around town to check on all the boys and girls. He then joined the community to sing Christmas carols at our tree lighting. The Boro did a great job with cookies and hot cocoa. The kids even got a early gift. A big thank you to everyone who made this happen and to the parents for bringing the children to enjoy this special time. We hope you all have a great week and be safe.

Ho Ho Ho We know all the covid stuff has put a damper on things this year but one of the dispatchers made a call to the North Pole and talked to the head Elf. He said if we keep Santa safe he’d let him take a quick trip down to visit us. So guess what kids Santa is coming to Hop Bottom Sunday November 29th. We will be taking him around town on the fire truck and stopping on the island up town at 6:00pm. We will sing Christmas carols and do the lighting of our tree. The... boro will then hand out cookies and hot cocoa to all the children. There will be no gathering at the hall this year so everything will take place on the island. We have direct orders from the head elf that Santa can not have children sitting on his lap this year but we may still allow photos next to the fire truck where he is riding. Good evening everyone Not sure if anyone got up to see the light parade in Montrose this evening but it was a great night for a parade and a lot of fun. We had a great turn out for it so thank you all for coming out to ride in it and support the fire companies. Have a great Sunday and a safe week.

Hey hey friends be safe tonight in your cabins and tomorrow out in the woods. Hop Bottom Fire along with other companies were dispatched on a second alarm structure fire box in Factoryville this evening. It was a cabin out in the woods and could only be accessed with 4 wheel drive units. HB PT went to station 9 for cover up and HB BT responded into the scene to supply working brush trucks. Great job done by all tonight. Be safe and good luck hunters.
