365 An Artist’s Pandemic Journey A retrospective on a year’s journey making music in a pandemic. Produced by Ara Barlieb and Pamela Wallace. Audio by Sean Kernan.... Early in the pandemic, Dave Fry committed to posting a song a day for one year. With this concert, Dave celebrates this journey and reflects on how it has shaped his artistic creativity, and his place in the Lehigh Valley community. Joining Dave for this virtual concert is long-time friend and musician Craig Thatcher. Dave Fry is a Lehigh Valley teaching artist, founder of Godfrey Daniels, folk radio programmer and performing folk music artist. Craig Thatcher is a celebrated acoustic/electric guitarist and international representative of the Martin Guitar Company. Dave and Craig will entertain questions about the process, and how our lives have changed as artists in lock-down. Suggested donation is $10: Dave Fry: paypal.me/davefrymusic Craig Thatcher: Paypal: [email protected] and Venmo is @Craig-Thatcher-1.T Show is produced by the Crowded Kitchen Players The show will be streamed on the IceHouse Tonight Facebook page and the IceHouse Tonight Youtube channel. The Live From IceHouse Tonight concert series is proud to present Poor Man's Gambit. Poor Man's Gambit is a trio of traditional artists comprised of Corey Purcell (button accordion, cittern, vocals, bodhran, dance), Federico Betti (guitar, fiddle), and Deirdre Lockman (fiddle, vocals, dance). Initially formed in 2015, the band has performed hundreds of shows around the U.S., and has completed two tours of the UK and Ireland. They are based here in the Lehigh Valley, and rout...inely play at the local Irish pubs in town. Building on their roots as traditional Irish musicians, the trio's repertoire is also influenced by traditional music of other cultures including France, Scotland, England, and America, some of which can be heard on their latest release 'Land of Sunshine'. Several original tunes have also been included on the album including an air 'Bear Mountain', and a reel 'House on the Ridge'. It is our pleasure to include this talented trio in our ongoing Live From IceHouse Tonight series, especially for St. Patrick's Day! This performance was filmed in our very own IceHouse a few weeks ago, and we can't wait until the seats are filled and we're able to present music like this in person. Poor Man's Gambit volunteered to play for us tonight and to return the favor, we graciously encourage you to donate what you can to the band. You can send donations via Paypal to [email protected] orr through Venmo using the name @coreygambit Enjoy the music and stay tuned to our Facebook and Youtube pages for more performances! Also, we'd like to thank the City of Bethlehem and Fig Bethlehem for their ongoing support of our series, Zeptepi Creative for the wonderful videography, and the FabLab at Northampton Community College for their production assistance.
