"I remember, I dropped him off at IM ABLE for the first time and Jo said, ‘you’re leaving your chair here. When you’re here, you’re walking.’ She’s helping him with his leg, but also with other muscles too. This stroke totally changed his life, but the whole family’s life also. IM ABLE’s been a good thing. As he would put it, ‘it’s the highlight of my day, Kath.’ For him to go and look forward to that hour, it’s a good thing. It’s a different outlook for him to advance and re...ach his two goals of driving and walking again, without assistance. I know it’s going to happen. He would say that, ‘I feel like I have a s**t future.’ But I’m starting to see a change, a positive mindset. Today, we went to the mall just to walk. And he was very happy with that. It’s mostly a mental thing. When you can change the way you look at things, everything else comes with it." To our IM ABLE Community: We are excited to share that the IM ABLE Foundation is MOVING! On January 1st, we will officially be moving across the bridge closer to Penn Avenue to our new location at: 901 Hill Avenue, Building 17, Wyomissing, PA We will now be a part of Berks County’s athletic training and fitness community: The T.R.A.I.N. Station! Berks Elite Training, The CrossFit Crossing (formerly Corps Fitness), Phoenix Allstars and the IM ABLE Foundation are moving in toge...ther under The T.R.A.I.N. Station’s roof and mantra. The T.R.A.I.N. Station, which sits on Wyomissing’s historic railroad system, is symbolic as it represents Train, Regenerate, Adapt, Inspire, and Nourish. All four of these entities embody this mindset and will bring their reputation for leading their respective industries in Berks County and beyond as they service the performance-minded, CrossFit and adaptive communities. We can’t wait for you to check out the new 13,000 sq ft building! Please stay tuned for more updates as we head into 2021.

"For the past 40 years, OAR has been deeply committed to the Berks County Community. We understand the importance of keeping active, and IM ABLE works hard to show that exercise is good for everyone. We could not have been more honored or proud to have been able to provide IM FIT classes to kids with challenges, so that they may have a safe environment to interact, stay active, but most importantly to have fun! Seeing the smiles on these remarkable kids' faces has been a highlight of 2020!" -Chris Mancuso, Partner at Orthopaedic Associates of Reading & Sponsor of IM ABLE

"I’ve seen a notable difference in her abilities and what she’s able to do since she’s been with the program and I just think it’s phenomenal. She more confident in her ability to transfer into the wheelchair. She has more stamina for everything that she does. She’s less reliant on others to do the things that she needs to do. I’m thrilled for her. If it gives her a greater sense of wellbeing, it helps me as well. It’s hard for me to put into words because I can see a differ...ence in her. If she’s happy, I’m happy, it’s as simple as that. It thrills me to death to see her have more self-confidence and independence." -Tim Nagle, Husband of Jaclyn Nagle, Adaptive Personal Training Program Participant and Member of the IM ABLE Board of Directors Your donation could add up to someone getting their independence back.
