We often use flu to refer to the stomach bug called Gastroenteritis that is also common in the winter months. This is not the flu, however. When we recommend a flu shot or talk about avoiding contact with people who have the flu, we are referring to a specific viral infection called Influenza which causes fever, body aches, upper respiratory symptoms and lots of other trouble including complications such as pneumonia and shock. This graphic helps demonstrate the differences.

Wow. Here's a promising new way for doctors and patients to opt out of the bureaucratic health care system dominated by a cartel of hospital and insurance companies and insulate themselves from Washington's awful policies.

10% efficacy this year's flu shot? That doesn't sound good. Boost your body's ability to fight by making it stronger. Cut out processed foods. Get moving so you...r muscles keep your lymphatic system draining. Get adjusted to help your body adapt better. Find healthy and effective outlets for stress as stress attacks your weak spots. Increase water consumption. Eat foods rich in calcium (not dairy), vitamin D. Give your body the natural building blocks to avoid the flu or at least reduce the impact of the virus. Fighting these bugs is a multi directional approach, but remember health comes from within not from outside of you. https://www.medscape.com/viewarticle/889563
