- [ ] Kasey is 23 years old and is diagnosed with Athetoid Cerebral Palsy, Complex Partial Epilepsy, Neuromuscular Scoliosis and Cortical Vision Impairment as t...he result of a perinatal stroke. - [ ] On September 10,2020 Kasey had a spinal fusion performed at Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh to correct a 73 degree curvature of his spine. As a result Kasey grew 4 overnight! - [ ] Though the surgery was successful it has resulted in some huge challenges to his daily care that the family didn’t face pre-surgery. In particular mom is no longer able to lift him on her own for transfers from wheelchair to their van. Transportation to doctor’s appointments in particular has become an issue. This means dad has to take time off from work to help with transfers. - [ ] The family has reached a point that it’s necessary to purchase a wheelchair accessible van to be able to transport him safely in his new wheelchair which is coming soon. - [ ] Please consider helping Kasey to Keeping it Wheel and to keep on wheeling !
