Heed the Winter Storm Warning! It's going to be a major 2-3 day event. Take precautions and fuel, charge and prep your equipment for safe operation and NEVER stick your hand in a blower to unclog it, even if turned off. Use a large stick such as a broom handle instead.

https://www.prospectivedoctor.com/how-mrna-vaccines-defen/ This is a wonderful and concise review of how vaccines are made and work and discusses the mRNA technology . Please share with others. Ken Tao deserves much credit in boiling it down to this short presentation. I get my second dose next week.

OAA has 4 fellowship trained Orthopaedic Hand surgeons with over 80 years combined experience. You will see your hand surgeon each and every visit at OAA Hand Institute. As a patient....you have a choice . There are no rules that you MUST see the doctor that the ER refers you to see.

I saw this in a colleagues post and thought it was a great reminder of how it takes a large team to deliver excellent healthcare. Please keep everyone in every role on this list in your thoughts. Yesterday was my first full day on telehealth and it was awesome to connect with new patients and communicate with established patients but I can't wait to interact in person with my patients.

Beginning today, March 23rd, OAA will be moving to a telehealth and triage model of care with all physical offices closed, with the exception of a physician-ide...ntified critical need appointment. A reminder that the fastest way for our established patients to connect with your physician is through our online patient portal, where you can ask your provider a question, reschedule an appointment, etc. Connect to the patient portal here at https://1453.portal.athenahealth.com/ Telehealth requested visits should be made through the portal and only be requested by patients with urgent issues. This process will allow the physicians to assess our patients' urgent orthopaedic needs and guide care during our temporary closure. Any emergencies, please consult your nearest emergency room. For the safety of all, all current and future appointments that are not emergencies will be rescheduled at this time. Thank you for your patience and understanding.

The doctors at OAA Hand Institute are still available for you as your health is our top priority! We will have limited office hours available in our Allentown facility (250 Cetronia Rd) for "your true emergency" and surgery if necessary. Our telehealth platform will be via DOXY.ME to take place on your phone, IPAD or computer. Schedule your appointment as usual at 610-973-6200 between 8am and 5pm. -When it is time for your appointment you will receive a message as shown ...to check in -Click the link in the message to access DOXY.ME (Computers should use Google Chrome or Firefox) -Click on the message that asks you to enable camera and microphone -Enter your name in the box in the virtual waiting room so your doctor knows you have arrived -When the green light appears your doctor is there and available and your HIPPA compliant video conference will begin We apologize for this temporary inconvenience and look forward to seeing you back in our office as soon as the COVID-19 crisis resolves. In the meantime, employ the government recommended "safe behaviors" and stay well!
