The Faculty of Jefferson's MS in Disaster Medicine and Management (previously Philadelphia University) are pleased to forward this recruitment of survey participants! Please take the time (those of you who have graduated from academic programs in the last three years) to take the survey! *** Drs. Jensen and Kirkpatrick at North Dakota State University’s Department of Emergency Management are doing a second round of data collection to explore the extent to which emergency mana...gement degree program students get jobs when they graduate and why. Their first effort led to three publications reporting interesting findings indeedwe need more work of this kind. Thus, we are sending you the invitation to participate in the hopes that you will participate in this study! They are seeking participants who graduated from an academic program in the last three years. The survey asks some basic information about you, your educational experience, your professional development, your professional network, how you approached your job search, and the current status of your job search. Your institution and degree program will not be part of data analysis and will not be reported in the study resultsthey are only interested in analyzing the aggregate data in these different areas and the relationships among the variables they are testing. We at Jefferson University's Disaster Medicine and Management program think this study is super importantwe talk about this topic all the time here. We all want to know what they find. So, we are thrilled to support their initial step to explore the topic. You can participate by complete the survey at: https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/EMJobPlacement

Wrapped up day 3 with virtual presentations by our usual hosts from the Milton Hershey School and the Hershey Company. Thank you, Rick Gilbert and Sean Kirlin for the discussions on the unique integration of a community (Derry Township), an endowed charitable school, and several related but independent corporations in DIsaster and Emergency Planning and Management. They provided unique insights on pivoting international business units in the face of the COVID-19 epidemic, and a residential private school's adaptions to keep the children, the staff, and their families, safe in the face of this virus. Fun fact: Did you know? The Hershey Company is making masks to help their communities.
