We miss our patients, but wanted to keep you abreast to our new infection control systems! We are back up and running and can't wait to see all of you. Unfortunately, we are limited to the type of patient we can currently see, but anticipate a full opening in the near future. We have been busy ensuring that our office is safe for both our staff and our patients. Take a peek below to see what all we've added to our existing infection control guidelines!

To our Valued Patients and Friends, We hope this update finds you safe and well. As you are most likely aware, dental offices across Pennsylvania remain closed by the mandate of Governor Wolf, The PA Department of Health, the PA Dental Association, and the American Dental Association.... Our hats are off to essential professionals in the food industry, the healthcare profession, and all who have helped through this time of great need in our country and much of the world. Although our struggle is not over, America has shown what is possible when good people do great things. With the onset of spring and the blooms of forsythia, tulips, and daffodils, we see more neighbors walking outside enjoying the fresh air and sunshine! We will be in touch as soon as we receive word about a re-opening of our practice. If you have any questions or concerns, You may call (238-6061) or email us at the office ([email protected]). Best, John Carder

An open letter to our valued patients: Our primary concern at this time is for you, your family, and our staff's good health and safety. Because of the directives from the ADA and the PDA, along with Gov. Wolfe’s mandate, we have suspended all elective dental treatment and will be available only for pain and emergencies. We can be reached at (814) 238-6061 at anytime where one of our staff members will advise you of the protocol for emergency visits. If they are unavailable, ...you will be provided a phone number to reach me directly. Please know that we appreciate each of you and we look forward to resuming our normal schedule as soon as safely possible. If we can be of any assistance or answer any questions or just lend support, please don’t hesitate to contact us. We wish you safety, strength, and good health as we all adapt to these changes in our daily lives. With respect and appreciation John Carder and Staff

As confirmed cases of coronavirus are appearing closer to our area, we want to share with you how we are taking steps to provide the safest possible environment for our patients and staff. The health and safety of our patients is our primary concern and the cornerstone of our practice philosophy. We are closely following the CDC (Center for Disease Control) for updates to monitor the risks posed to our patients by the COVID-19 Coronavirus outbreak. We request you to also ple...ase join our efforts to keep a safe environment for everyone. Our office cleans and disinfects the office throughout the day, this includes all surface areas that we are touching, counter-tops, doorknobs, exam chairs and tables. Here is a link to the CDC’s website providing information regarding how to protect yourself, your family and community: https://www.cdc.gov/coronavi/2019-ncov/community/index.html We ask that patients do not physically enter the office if any of the following applies to you: You feel sick or have a fever, cough, or difficulty breathing; OR You have traveled outside the US within the past 14 days; OR You have been in close physical contact with someone who: o Has recently visited China, Iran, Japan, South Korea, Italy, Washington state or any area where there is a COVID-19 Coronavirus outbreak; OR o Feels sick or has fever, cough or difficulty breathing. If you fit into any of the above categories, and you have a pressing or emergent concern regarding your dental care, please call us as an alternative to physically entering the office and we will make every effort to address your situation in a timely, safe and effective manner. We will do our best to adjust our policies to the latest developments as conditions are changing daily. Thank you for your cooperation. Dr. John E. Carder, D.D.S.

Have you seen the mail-order orthodontics, ie. Smile Direct Club? Here's a great article on why if something sounds too good to be true, it probably is! "Radiographs revealed she had severe bone loss around her teeth, which will likely result in multiple extractions" https://www.todaysrdh.com/mail-order-orthodontics-are-they/
