A Wednesday Pick Me Up One of my favorite verses is from Isaiah "Yet you, Lord, are our Father. We are the clay; you are the potter; we are all the work of your hand" (64:8). We forget that God is actively shaping and molding us as we grow through life. The struggles, the scars, and the joys all make us who we ultimately become. We are God's project in the making. Several books of the Bible use this analogy one being Jeremiah 18:3-4 "So I went down to the potter’s house,... and there he was working at his wheel. The vessel he was making of clay was spoiled in the potter’s hand, and he reworked it into another vessel, as seemed good to him." The current climate is part of this reshaping and no matter what happens God continues to rework us until it seems good to Him. A flaw in pottery is often its best feature and creates its own uniqueness. Whatever burdens we carry or mistakes we've made, God continues to reshape us into His beautiful one-of-a-kind creations. A crack in the pot can be the very thing that allows light in, as well as out. When the Spirit fills us with the light of Christ, we through our brokenness reflect His light to the world. We, through ordinary interactions, can be the one bright spot that someone else needs to hear or see today. If we must be cracked pots let us proclaim the majesty of the One who made us!!! See more

Have a Blessed Thanksgiving!!

"Lord, You assigned me my portion and my cup; You have made my lot secure." Psalm 16:5 God is our portion. He is enough. Whatever your heart is feeling today, consume the ever-flowing love of God. Let His presence be fulfilling and your confidence restored. Though it has been a challenging year, it has also been a good litmus test for our faithfulness. Tim McGraw's newest hit offers a good perspective. I encourage you to look up his song entitled "Gravy." "Call this an... epiphany - Seein' the same things differently Maybe mama's prayer caught up with me I'm startin' to get it now If my window to the world is the evening news only song I'll sing is gonna be the blues Maybe happiness is a choice you choose I'm startin' to get it now If you ask me, I got it made... One more day in this crazy life... Everything else is gravy" May this day fill you with love and peace as we contemplate the wonder and awe of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Remember you are never alone. He lives to be your joy and your hope. In fact, God gives us His portion every single day which will conquer whatever may come our way. "My flesh and my heart may fail, but God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever." Psalm 73.26

God made us all in his image, indeed! And yes, I firmly believe God has a magnificent sense of humor - even a goofy one.

A Pick Me Up "The Lord himself goes before you and will be with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged. Deuteronomy 31:8. Jesus tells us the same thing in Matthew 28:20, "And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age." No matter what you are feeling today, cooped up, depressed, anxious, sad or simply weary, don't give up. You don't have to look very hard or very far to find God; you only need to 'be.' Be still and listen. As we near All Saints Day hold close to your hearts, those whom you have loved and lost. Then ask God, in their name, what His plans are for you. Trust God....and remember, "The Lord Himself goes before you." And all the Saints are watching over you.
