Please be observant!!!

We have received a few messages from people wanting help with the search. Unfortunately right now, all of our available man power is busy working the boats and... sonar. Which means we are currently unable to organize something. This afternoon/evening as more volunteers return home from work, we should be able to put something together. If you are out enjoying the lake today, please keep an eye out. Slow rides around the shoreline and watching the open water would be most beneficial if you are so inclined. Our focus is from Capri Marina towards the Ledgedale end of the lake still. As stated in the previous post, please give the dive team boats plenty of room. They will be running search grids which are much more effective if not interrupted. I have been trying to respond to your messages in a timely manor and appreciate the information provided. I will however will not be responding to questions such as any updates. We will make an official post if something turns up. It is important to not disturb anything for the sake of any investigation that may follow.

As with any incident, there is always some poor information so we would like to try and remove some of the misconceptions. The boat in this picture bumped into ...a boat that was anchored near Briar Hill Estates while its occupants were swimming. It was not a high speed collision. The boat contained a wallet, phone and keys but was unoccupied. Its operator was last caught on camera at the Boat Shop. There are numerous unconfirmed sightings at other areas around the lake. Ledgedale Dive along with Tafton Dive and the Fish Commission searched the water surface and the Islands unsuccessfully. Both dive teams and the Pa State Police returned to the lake to continue searching today. Residents around the area of where the boat was located were interviewed. Anyone that may come up this weekend, that may have cameras pointed towards the lake, are encouraged to check their footage. Divers cleared possible sonar hits this evening with no success. The search will continue tomorrow. Boaters are asked to avoid running too close to the rescue team boats because they will be running sonar. Anyone with information is encouraged to contact the Pa Fish Commission, Pa State Police or either of the dive teams. Remember that neither of the stations are manned 24 hrs a day so leaving messages on the answering machines will be the slowest way of conveying information. We ask boaters this weekend be vigilant and cautious. We would like any future comments to be made on this post rather than the previous to avoid confusion. Also please share this with any groups for the lake that you see fit. Please keep the family in your thoughts and avoid the negative comments. See more
