Daytona Kartweek, Week one of our 4 stops in Florida this year is complete. Kartworkz was busy with 4 drivers from up North competing in SR 100cc and Junior 100cc Logan Vajda (100cc Jr) George Feghali (100cc Jr) Stephen Vajda (100cc Sr)... Justin White (100cc Sr) Both Jr Drivers progressed well over the course of the event. Logan qualifying 25 and George 15th. In the first heat both drivers moved up positions, Logan holding the 21 Spot while George took on 14th. With cloud cover and rain off and on it was difficult to get on a setup and stick with it, Heat 2 became a decision for rain tires or slicks, and with the driver pack mixed in choices we went rain tires. Both our drivers made great Leaps with Logan finishing 8th and George finishing 9th. on the Final day the sky’s let the sun peak through, and both drivers finished Logan 16th and George 14th. The main event had over 36 drivers with Logan finishing 23 and George finishing 13. I am so proud of there 2 drivers not only for attending their first national event, but racing within a large field of drivers and staying positive constantly striving to better their race craft. Justin Whites weekend was a bit more difficult. He show’d great pace early on In Practice and maintained that speed to qualify 5th on Day 1. This would all start to unravel early on In heat one. In the early laps Justin managed to climb into the 3rd spot, multiple drivers putting on the pressure. Justin met with an on track incident which resulted in a fall to 21st, driving with twisted up steering components he would end the race at 21st Heat 2 was run in full rain setup and his position fell to 24th. Heat 3 was his chance to make up some ground, and he did but only to finish at 19th. Justin made changes to kart setup for the final, which yielded much improvement in lap times bringing his closer to the front runners pace, but in the end was capable of improving his final position to 17th. In the end, all drivers were on a new motor package, and at a new track. Challenged by the ever changing weather, all drivers had a moment to be proud of, our best finishes included a 5th in qually, an 8th and a 9th in heat races, all drivers learned a lot and look forward to our next stop at FWT Round 1 Pompano Beach in two weeks.

The Kartworkz Team Grabbed some hardware this weekend at Rd#3 Nj State. Championship in Englishtown NJ. Justin White tool pole in qualifying and managed to run to the Checkered in Prefinal and Final to win in the Senior class . Justin also began testing the ground with KZ Shifter Class. Foregoing his opportunity to run Qually or the prefinal he took to the Grid for the Final Race. Starting in Last position. working on this new Motor platform, he managed to make his way u...p to Third Place and stand on the Box with his first Shifter trophy of 3rd place... Ben Hernandez put on a spectacular run today in Minirok. He qualified Pole, then ran to the Checkered uncontested in the Prefinal, and although pulled away at the start of the Final, he found himself trading places in the later part of the race with second place, this made for some great spectating as both drivers traded places for the win. As it would play out, Ben managed to take the checkered in first place but later learned of an imposed driving infraction( penalty) with forced a inverted finish giving the win to the other driver. Ben is determined to stand on that top step, way to go Ben. So Proud!!!! Cudos to all our drivers this week for working so hard. A successful weekend at the FSeries round 1. Pole position in Ironman F125 and 3 heat wins. A 3rd place qualifying by hundredths of a tenth in F125 a 4,5,5. ...Finish out of 17 drivers.
