Getting started ordering seed and preparing for the upcoming season. looking forward to seeing our crops growing again.
As we put 2020 in the books so to speak. We wish everyone a Happy New Year. We look forward to a less stressful year coming up as we strive to serve our customers. Hopefully everyone has a better 2021.
Today I had a unique experience while bagging corn. I was bagging out of a wagon in any open barn where we store wagons of hay in the summer and corn wagons this time of year. A good sized hawk flue in and perched on the wagon, looking for birds that might be there for a "free" meal. Yesterday I found a good pile of feathers, so someone paid dearly for a free meal of my corn. I think there is a lesson here for so many that are looking for the "free" things promised by many in our government. I fear that the price for all the free stuff will be high for many. It was special to have a hawk with in 10 feet of me while I was working.
Cheryl and I would like to wish everyone a very Merry Christmas. As you celebrate, enjoy your family, be safe and remember Christ, the reason for the season.
Cheryl and I would like to wish everyone a Happy Thanksgiving. In spite of a challenging year, we are very blessed. We get to work the land and enjoy many very special people who are our customers and friends. A special thanks to the Wellsboro Growers Market and all who make it possible. As we finish this years corn harvest, we look to the upcoming season. Thanks to all and count your blessings.
I am sorry to post that Keeney Farm will not be at the Wellsboro Growers Market tomorrow. We made the choice that with the nasty weather forecast for tomorrow, ...and all we need to prepare for the cold coming this weekend, that our efforts needed to be here on the farm. We will have our winter squash available as long as we can keep them from freezing nights. Thanks to all involved with the Wellsboro Growers Market, and to all our customers. We look forward to next season. See more
Our wagons are out, Sadly some varieties did not set any fruit in the heat/dry conditions. Our selection will not be as good as usual. Thanks for your support and understanding. looking forward to next year.

It is a sad post to share that a very special cat has crossed over this week. Known as "Momma Cat" , My Daughters cat spent a great deal of time on the farm with us. After her breakfast at home, she would wait on our porch for another snack. She would often be curled up napping, making sure we did our work right. She even crashed our Grandson's wedding here on the farm this summer. She often helped drain " extra blood" from my fingers in her play. She will be missed by many.
