Beginning Monday, meals will no longer be available at parks and recreation sites. Instead, 49 school district sites will be open Mondays and Thursdays from 9 a.m. to noon only, and families will be permitted to take three grab-and-go bags per student.
Following guidance from Philadelphia Department of Public Health, all playgrounds and athletic courts are temporarily closed effective TODAY. Parks are open for those who are well. Please practice safe social distancing and hand washing. 50 recreation centers and older adult centers will distribute grab and go meals through Friday, March 20. Effective Tuesday, March 17, Kingsessing Rec Center will be open from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. for meal distribution outside only. (First come, First Served) There will be no recreational activities.
So far only one child showed up. We have 49 lunches available for any youth ages 18 & under. Lunches are available from 2pm-6pm. 1st come 1st served.
We will be open to youth Monday through Friday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. One meal per child will be provided at 3 p.m.
