Let’s talk about masks. My state has a mandate that says as of yesterday we must wear masks when out in public, at an essential store or doctor’s visit. This is me on my afternoon walk. Yes, I made that mask and I wore it for the entire walk. I was walking in a park, there were other people around (enough other people that I was wishing I’d walked somewhere else, including a few dads who were ignoring the caution tape roping off the playground and playing on the equipment wit...h their children. But I digress). I got some weird looks wearing my mask, no one said anything. Of all the people I saw there were 2 others wearing masks, they were also really polite bicyclists (the kind who warn you they’re on your left). Yesterday I also went on a walk, masked. Because I feel it is important for the health of my community to normalize this practice. I was talking to a friend with earbuds in as I passed an older ‘gentleman’ who started saying something to me, all I caught was something about not breathing, it didn’t sound complementary. I refrained from yelling after him, I’m wearing this thing to protect YOU, and that’s what it comes down to. I am a relatively young, healthy person. If I contract Covid-19 the likelihood is I’ll be fine, but I am in contact with at risk people and I care about them. My mom lives with me, she’s a 71 year old, diabetic, cancer survivor. I want her to be safe. When I am able to safely see patients again I have patients who are at risk, I want to make sure they are as safe as possible in any interactions they have with me. So, yes, I am taking this mandate more seriously than most. But I am also aware that it is possible to be an asymptomatic carrier of Covid-19 and wearing a mask is the best practice to keep others safe if you are. The most accurate description I have seen is this is Schrodinger’s virus, you must assume you are both infected and not infected at the same time and act accordingly. So please, wash your hands, practice distancing from others, and wear a mask if you need to go out or are going to be near other people. ~Ann See more

We’ve started making masks at the office. Siobhan the (Irish) sheep is supervising. She came home with Ann last summer to keep Annette’s goat Gerty company.

Lincoln Ave. Suite 3 in Lebanon. Don't worry it's not far at all from our current office and we will be posting directions and updates as the progress on the new office continues. Kirby Acupuncture Reopening We are happy to announce that in accordance with the PA Board of Medicine and the APA we will be reopening the office to all patients as of Monday June 1, 2020. You will notice some substantial changes to the office and scheduling process, we ask that you please be patient with us as we continue to make every effort to keep you as safe as possible during this time. At this time we can only accommodate patients in the office. If someone drives yo...u to appointments we ask that they remain in your vehicle to wait for you. All patients must have a mask fully covering their nose and mouth at all times in the office. When you arrive you will notice the door is locked, this is for your safety. Please knock and we will let you in. As soon as you enter the office we ask that you wash your hands. After your hands are clean Ann will check your temperature and oxygen saturation level and direct you immediately to a treatment room. We are only seeing one patient an hour and alternating room use. The room you use will have been sanitized and had a medical grade HEPA filtration tower on for an hour before you use it. The patient before and after you will use the other treatment room. Due to the necessity of only seeing one patient an hour our schedule is already quite full. We will get you scheduled as quickly as possible but it may not be as easy as it has been in the past. We are working diligently to move the office to a larger space with more treatment rooms so we can accommodate more patients. You will receive a pre-screening phone call before your appointment. We ask that if you have been in contact with any person who has been diagnosed Covid-19 positive in the previous 14 days, are experiencing any symptoms of illness, have a fever, or have been in a group of people, outside those you live with, without a mask on, that you reschedule your treatment. Due to the population of our patients, many being immunocompromised, we must take every precaution to keep the office as safe and healthy as possible for everyone. This includes not treating visibly ill patients or anyone engaging in high risk activities. Thank you for your patience. We understand this is a challenging time for everyone and are very much looking forward to seeing you back in the office for treatments as soon as possible. ~Ann
