The Pennsylvania Pharmacists Association (PPA) has announced the recipients of the 2020 PPA Awards. Keystone would like to specifically congratulate two of those recipients: 2020 PPA PRECEPTOR OF THE YEAR AWARD RECIPIENT Chuck Obied - member of Keystone & PARD... Chuck received his BSPharm from the University of Connecticut, currently works at Sheehan’s Pharmacy and was Cody Morcom's preceptor in 2017 and 2019. "In our contemporary situation, reliable and trustworthy leaders are exactly what people need. My former preceptor gives that to anyone who works with him. I am forever indebted to his leadership, creativity, and love of mentoring students like myself." Morcom said. 2020 GEORGE S. MAGGIO MEMORIAL AWARD RECIPIENT Richard Ost - member of PARD Richard received his pharmacy degree from the Philadelphia College of Pharmacy in 1982. For the last 37 years and counting, he has been the owner and pharmacist of Philadelphia Pharmacy. More often than not, he spends his time and money fighting against PBM abuse, specific to Medicaid. Through his many contacts in Philadelphia and around the state, he has been instrumental in bringing litigation against PBM’s and working with PPA, PARD, and the elected officials in bringing new legislation to protect independent pharmacies.
