Discrete Math Seminar Friday at 11 in Lytle 136: Dr. Fran Vasko will speak on "A History of Linear Programming." It promises to be a very interesting talk. This will also be the last Discrete Math Seminar of the semester.
Dylan Gaspar's WIPS Presentation on the Steiner Cable-Trench Problem is Thursday at 11 in Lytle 203.
Congratulations to Dr. and Mrs. Eric Landquist on the birth of their third child, Lydia Naomi on Tuesday, December 8th at 4:54pm. Lydia measured 8lbs. 7oz. and 22.5" long. Mom and baby are doing great.
The newly-formed Kutztown University Chapter of the Association for Women in Mathematics (AWM) will be meeting on Tuesday, Nov. 17th, at 11 a.m. in LY 203. All students and faculty, both male and female, are invited to attend. We will be introducing our officers and watching a TED Talk about Why We Have Too Few Women Leaders.
Our next math game hour will be on Tuesday Nov 17th at 3pm in LY 130. Please stop by for more games and fun!

Math Club: Tuesday at 11 in Lytle 228. KU Math alumnus Rob Barbieri ('99) will speak about grad school at Lehigh, his work at Air Products, and how a degree in math prepares you for life after graduation.

Math Club Game Hour! The Math Club and Math Department will be hosting our weekly game hour event starting tomorrow, Thursday, November 5 at 11am in Lytle 214, we'll bring 3D Connect 4, Rush Hour, Blokus, Mastermind, Rummikub, Set, chess, and more, and you are also welcome to bring your own. There will be pizza! Also, students who attend this Thursday may enter a drawing; two lucky winners will receive a $10 gift card!
Colloquium today! 4PM in Lytle 228. Dr. Jesse Feller of KU will talk about "Classical and Generalized Iteration," which is a fancy way of saying that we'll get to see some really trippy artwork made by one or more mathematical functions.
