Lancaster County Art Association

A reminder that drop off for our "Lancaster County Art Quilt Project" is this coming weekend, April 23 & 24 (11am-4pm) & April 25 (1-4pm). Those dates are also the pick up for the Spring Membership Show (last day to view, April 22). We are hoping you are finishing up your piece for the show. If you haven't started, you still have time. Since they are only 5x7"with a 1" border and do not need to be matted or framed, you can get it done in plenty of time! The piece must be a s...ubject or location in Lancaster County and can be done in any medium on paper. The LCAA will supply the 8x10" mats so we will have a uniform look for our "quilt". You could even cut down an old piece to the overall size (7x9"), since the mat will cover the edges. We are also accepting 3D pieces, 8" or less in width, 10" or less in height. More details are on the entry form attached to this email. Forms are also available at the LCAA. Numerous cash awards will be given out, both judged and People's Choice. Judge for the show is plein air watercolorist Marita Hines. Donate as many pieces as you can, it gives you more chances to win a prize! There are no entry fees. Artwork will be for sale at $45 each and proceeds will benefit the LCAA. We will also have a Children's and a Teens Quilt, so get the kids or grandkids involved. You do not need to be a member to participate. Your artwork will also be featured online - on our website and facebook page. The LCAA really needs your help to get back on track financially after the past year. We need you to participate- either by donating a piece(s) or by purchasing artwork during the exhibit May 1 - June 3. Join us on Sun. May 2, 1-4pm for our reception and award ceremony. Questions? Just a reminder- We will be having special times for our Sun. Sept. 27 Drop Off for the Fall Membership Show due to our Member's Picnic. We will be open 12-1pm & 3-4pm so staff can attend the picnic. Note: the gallery will be closed from 1-3pm. Member's Picnic- If you have signed up to attend the picnic, please park in the back parking lot behind the borough building/ library. It is closer to the pavilion. Bring lawn chairs if you like and remember your mask! See you tomorrow!
