Let’s talk LASH DAMAGE. This is a long post - if you don’t have time to read it now, save it for later and educate yourselves. Send it to your friends who hav...e lash extensions or who are considering them. I did this lovely lady’s hybrid lash set a few months ago. My new location is far for her, so she decided to try a salon closer. (TOTALLY understandable). After her full set, her lashes immediately were poking her, attached to her skin, and she knew they didn’t look right. Her full set was done in 45 MINUTES! LASHES ARE NOT A QUICK SERVICE. Let me break it down. Paperwork & Consultation - 5 mins Lashes are properly cleansed & prepped - 5-10 mins Eye pads are placed & taped - 5 mins Full Set of Lashes - 1.5-2.5 HOURS based on the clients natural lashes & the look they are trying to achieve. Lashes should be placed 1 extension to every 1 natural lash. Double checking work for any stickies -5 mins Lashes are fanned & sealed - 5-10 mins This means your initial lash appointment should be a MINIMUM of about 2 hours. If you try to brush your lashes after your appointment and your lids are being lifted away from your eyeball, your brush is getting stuck before you get all the way through, or you feel any pain, SOMETHING IS WRONG. If your set is done in an hour or less, SOMETHING IS WRONG! Lash artists- TAKE YOUR TIME. Your client will leave much happier and is much more likely to return if her lashes are comfortable. If you are a new artist and you need to take 3+ hours for your full sets, DO IT. Explain to your clients that they will get the best result if you take your time. Discount your sets if you need to until you get your speed up. They will understand, and if they don’t, they are not your ideal client. Do not skip out on quality to get people in and out faster. You will not improve and you are going to damage people’s natural lashes. In a few weeks, we will be able to get her lashes fuller, and healthy -the way they were for that set months ago. #pittsburghlashes #lashextensions #pghsalon #pittsburghlashtech #pgh
