Attention Utility Customers: All Utility Bills had been mailed on time. We have been made aware there are major delays within USPS. Your utility bill can be accessed online with your account number and PIN located on any of your bills. Please look up account information online when possible - our utility office is short staffed and we are unable to fulfill all requests. Payments can be made online or by dropping payment at the drop box of the North St. side of Borough Ha...ll. Please make sure to include payment stub or account number with payment. Many thanks to the Parks & Recreation Board for a successful virtual tree lighting. While we missed having you all in the parks, the was a great online attendance. Take some time and watch the lighting! It was so nice to see all hear all of the creative ways our local organizations and businesses are spreading holiday cheer. Thanks to all who participated! The Annual Tire Recycle Event will be held Saturday, October 24, 2020 from 9:00a.m. to 11:00a.m. at the Public Works Garage. You must wear a mask when dropping off tires, bring driver's license and current utility bill showing you pay for garbage service in the Borough.

As a precautionary measure, Borough Hall remains closed to the public until further notice. We will see the public by appointment as necessary. Utility payments can be left in the drop box on the north side of borough hall. The offices are staffed for regular hours and can be reached by telephone or email. Borough Council will be meeting on the following dates: Thursday, December 3rd -Budget/General Purposes Monday, December 7th - Regular Monthly Meeting ... Thursday, December 10th - Budget/General Purposes Monday, December 21st - Budget/General Purposes The meetings will be held in person. Tuesday, September 8th, will be the first day of school in the Lehighton Area School District. We would like to remind everyone to be safe and observant to the students walking to and from school. If you are a "Walker", we suggest you utilize the designated Walking Routes depicted in pink on the map below within the Borough of Lehighton. Crossing Guards will be on duty along each of these routes to assist the students in crossing intersections and guiding them on their path to school.

NOTICE HYDRANT FLUSHING Beginning on Tuesday, September 15, 2020 fire hydrants will be flushed in the service area of the Lehighton Water Authorityin Lehi...ghton, Weissport and portions of Mahoning and Franklin Townships. Flushing will be done beginning at 8:00 A.M. and continue until around 3:00 P.M. each day until all hydrants are flushed. Hydrants will not be flushed on Monday’s. Water may be discolored for a short time. This discoloration is not harmful. It is suggested that at this time, you set aside water at night for drinking the next day. Hydrant flushing is part of our normal operations, in order to keep the system clean for use by our customers.

What a beautiful day in the Lehighton Park! Thanks to members of the Shade Tree Commission, LDI, MSSC, Pool Pals, Carbon Chamber, Parks & Rec., Borough Council, Mayor & Mrs. Ritter, Public Works and local business owners and community members, the lower park has received a little beautification. Weeding and mulch make a huge difference! Thank you to all the volunteers today!

The Lehighton Borough Police Department will be accepting applications for a Full-Time Officer. If we reach capacity, we ask you to stay in the amphitheater until we can assist you. We are following all guidelines and orders in Borough Hall so please wear a face covering. Street Sweeping Notice: The sweeping of 1st Street and Bankway had restarted in June. Residents are reminded to move their vehicles for the Wednesday sweeping. All other streets will be posted with orange no parking signs with the designated date for sweeping.
