But when he saw the wind, he was afraid and, beginning to sink, cried out, Lord, save me! Immediately Jesus reached out his hand and caught him. You of litt...le faith, he said, why did you doubt?" Matthew 14:30-31 We read here that Peter was in the middle of an awesome display of God’s power, but when Peter saw the wind, he was afraid; and beginning to sink, he cried, saying, Lord, save me (Matthew 14:30). Peter walked on the water as long as he kept his gaze on the Master. He only began to sink when he turned his attention away from Jesus, to look at the waves surrounding him. If that is where you are right now let me encourage you to not look at your waves(your circumstances)! Don’t allow natural occurrences to determine the circumstances of your existence. Don’t be moved by what your natural senses can perceive; be moved only by the Word of God. Those who take their eyes away from the Word are easily overwhelmed by the crises of life. This was what happened to Peter; he took his eyes away from Jesus, the Living Word, to look at the waves. The waves here could mean the challenging circumstances that come against your faith. Every day we must take our eyes off our own ability and the pulls of the world take our eyes off the wind and commit to trusting and keeping our eyes focused on Jesus. the author and perfecter of our faith (Hebrews 12:2).

Remember that God loves you. If you need to feel the presence of the Lord invite Him into your life today

Many believers evaluate themselves on the basis of their feelings rather than what God says? The problem is, our feelings are always changing. From one moment t...o the next, we never know what circumstances will arise to test our faith. Maybe today is one of those days We have to remember that Satan will do whatever he can to divert your attention from the Lord. When we direct our focus toward circumstances instead of the Word of God, we accept what the situation seems to indicate instead of what the Lord tells us. When circumstances seem unbearable, remember As long as Peter kept his eyes on Jesus, he was able to walk on the water as we will. Are there areas in your life where the devil is shouting defeat in your ear? Take these concerns to God and let Him remind you who you are in Him. Trust Him to transform your mind from how you see yourself into how He truly sees you. Wake up each morning with the knowledge that you are valuable to your Father. Trust in His Word, not your feelings, and allow the Holy Spirit to change your self-perception. See more
