The Little Art Bank is participating in Give Local York this year. The date for this is May 7, 2021. You can visit the GLY Website for more information. A donation can help to maintain cards for our Community Art Project, assist the LAB in providing free educational craft kits for the community, and assist in providing training for youths with special needs, among many other things. We thank you for the support you have already given us and would love to have your continued support during this year’s Give Local York. We are listed under Art of Recycle with the colorful LAB store logo beside the listing. https://www.givelocalyork.org
Thank you, Rebekah Lynn, for sharing these pictures of a finished Spring Bird, made from one of our take- home kits! Rebekah also purchased some canvasses and art supplies for her niece and nephew to paint. Finished paintings are shown.
Our piano has found a home. Thank you to those who inquired about it!
Reminder:. In addition to wearing masks and taking temperatures, we only allow 5-6 shoppers in the store at one time. It never hurts to call ahead and check in on the shopper status. Our hours are Wednesday, Thursday, and Saturday 11-3. 717-969-8088.
This clay pot family is ready for spring. Mother Nature, however, played an April Fool joke on us today by gifting us with snow and sleet throughout the day! We do have a few of these pots at the LAB, in case you're interested in a crafty project or just need to fancy up your plant containers.
We have more of the Spring Bird take-home kits available!
This post has little to do with art, but much to do with smiling! These are quokkas. They are marsupials, native to western Australia. They wear a perpetual smile on their faces. We hope these photos brought some smiles to your faces!
We’ve had several recent donations recently! Some donations have been from those who are quite familiar with the Little Art Bank. Some are from first-time folks who are anxious to visit us when we open for public shopping. We are very thankful for all of your support and all the donations that have come in! Reminder that we are *CLOSED* for shopping, but we *do* take scheduled donations. Please call before dropping off donations. We are very appreciative of your continued support!
Usually we post photos of our shopping area. Here are a few scenes from our back room. This is where we currently accept, sort, and store donations. There are also learning stations set up in this room for various classes. Even though these stations are currently not in use, we look forward to the day when we can safely offer classes again and create a satisfying and successful learning experience for art and creativity for youth and adults.
The LAB staff and volunteers are still quite busy "behind the scenes". We have received several donations recently and are very thankful to those who have donated items! We can't wait for the time when we can open our doors again and see all your smiling faces! Pictured are some of the newer items we've added to the shopping area of our Little Art Bank. We also continue to create take-home crafts kits. If anyone is interested, please message or call during our modified hou...rs and we can have the kits ready for pickup. We have wooden snowman kits and toilet paper roll snowmen/penguin kits. We also have yarn packs for Friendship Bracelets, so if you are looking for at- home creative projects, please let us know and we'll be happy to get some ready for you. We've received donations of jewelry and baskets, so we now have an expanded jewelry display and a new basket display, so you will see a few new items when we open for shopping.
Here is a wall that plays music when it rains! What a unique idea! We are very thankful for uniqueness and creativity! Art gives us balance and beauty. Keep your creative spirit nourished!
*ATTENTION* Due to the current rise in Covid cases and the new strains that are developing, it has been deemed in our best interests to remain *CLOSED* at this time. We will continue to do the following by appointment only:... Donations Pick up of supplies for volunteer groups off-site Curbside pickup for take-home craft kits Please call if you have donations or want to get the take-home kits and we will meet you at the door. Staff will be in the building on Wednesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays 11-3. We will continue to keep in touch with our off- site groups. We are sorry for the inconvenience, but after meeting today with our parent organization, we want to focus on keeping everyone healthy. We will continue to serve the community with our take- home kits. Please stay tuned and spread the word to those who don't follow us on Facebook. Thank you for your understanding and continued support. The LAB Staff
We now have these take-home kits available at the Little Art Bank. There is no cost for these kits. They are for at-home projects. Come pick up a kit while supplies last!
We received a lovely, handmade thank you card from Mrs. Sanders' Ace students in Littlestown, thanking us for the Bakers Kits! It is a heart-warming card that is signed by all the students. We are so glad the Bakers Kits are being used and enjoyed!
If any former students of Sam's have portfolios at the Little Art Bank, we do have several of those portfolios. If you would like to pick them up, stop in during our open hours: Wednesday, Thursday, and Saturday 11-5.
New Beginnings is feeling thankful for the donation of "baking tools" from Little Art Bank Hanover. . .we are using them with pumpkin play dough today as part of our harvest week.

One of our patrons bought these perler beads recently and she said they were a great hit! She sent this photo of some of the end results! It's always nice when our items are used for creative expression. We are working on ideas for take-home kits for kids to do on their own. We'll keep you posted!
