Let’s all wish NIGHT OF THE LIVING DEAD’s Marilyn Eastman a Happy Birthday. Marilyn was born on December 17, 1933. That makes her 87 years old today. As Helen Cooper she cemented her place in cinematic history. For her work on and off camera making that film happen, we of the Living Dead Museum thank you, and wish you the Happiest of Birthdays.

Happy Birthday to friend and SFX Master Tom Savini. Tom was born on November 3, 1946. Tom grew up idolizing Lon Chaney Sr because Lon created amazing makeup effects, he was a stunt man, an actor, and director during his career. Known for his makeup effects and creature creations in movies like CREEPSHOW, DAWN OF THE DEAD, FRIDAY THE 13TH, and so many other movies. He’s also acted in many cool films such as FROM DUSK TILL DAWN and GRINDHOUSE. Tom also has directed many project...s including the NIGHT OF THE LIVING DEAD remake of 1990. He really became his hero Lon Chaney. That’s pretty cool. Then on top of all that, he’s personally a great guy. Watch something created by him today, celebrate and revel in the experience. Happy Birthday Tom, All the best to you. #tomsavini #sfx #sfxmakeup #dawnofthedead #creepshow #FridayThe13th #TexasChainsawMassacre #moviemagic #fromdusktilldawn #lockeandkey #screamgreats #GrandeIllusions #nightofthelivingdead #horrormovies See more

A bitter sweet night here in Evans City...the museum is boxed up and moving out. So much work has gone into this incarnation, real time and labor from people l...ike Gary Streiner, Mandy Danger, Angie Grossman, Jonah Kriess, Campbell Kriess, who spent many hours building and painting walls to convert an old storefront to a museum Gallery. There’s so many others to thank who worked on various projects erecting the museum and shop. But seven years here has been awesome, not one minute of that time was wasted, in fact it all was part of the process that lead us to where we are today...about to launch the greatest supersized horror and zombie museum the world has ever seen. Even though the plan was to have both museums, this new plan incorporating both may actually be the best plan after all. I can’t wait to show it all to you as soon as we finish it. We’ve actually been building it for over a year now, it will include many of the things from the zombie museum along with some very famous set pieces from a couple of your favorite horror films. #SeeYouInMonroeville See more
