On this day 45 years ago these 3 railroads along with the Lehigh Valley, Reading, and Penn Central were running their last miles as themselves. On April 1, 1976 at 12:01 am the Consolidated Railroad Corporation (conrail) was formed. This is member Ed Lewis' proto freelance of what may have been. They are part of the heritage fleet of his freelance railroad. Have a railroad or model you would love to share with others? Stop by any Wednesday, Saturday or Sunday and inquire about our exciting membership opportunities.
