We know how difficult it can be to arrive at an unfamiliar area and be expected to know where to park. The West Side parking area of Marsh Creek State Park is no stranger to parking debacles. Fear not, for we have made a somewhat colorful guide to help you know where to park! - The areas shaded in blue are parking areas for passenger vehicles that do not have trailers. - The areas shaded in green are parking areas for vehicles with boat and horse trailers. - The yellow sh...aded area is the best place to park if you have a horse trailer, however, it also serves as parking for the Outdoor Classroom. Any vehicle can park in the yellow shaded area but we ask that vehicles without trailers park in available spaces in the blue shaded areas first. One final note: parking in the grass or on the shoulder of the road (other than the rectangular lot near the restroom or the strangely shaped seasonal overflow lot) may result in being ticketed.
Do you want to help keep your park beautiful? On Sunday, May 2nd we will be kicking off the summer with a garlic mustard pull event. Garlic mustard blocks sunlight, moisture, and vital nutrients from our other native plants including our seasonal wildflowers. If you are interested in getting rid of this invader sign up by clicking the link below. *spots limited*
A safety reminder to boaters that they are required to wear a U.S. Coast Guard approved life jacket at all times while underway or at anchor on boats less than 16 feet in length or on any kayak, canoe, or paddleboard until April 30. #WearIt #LifeJacketsSaveLives
Hi everyone, we are a NO GO for tomorrows burn with the predicted winds we will be out prescription and it will be unsafe to burn. Thanks for being patient. We will be trying to reschedule for another date. On April 5, 2021, conditions permitting, DCNR staff with the assistance of a local fire department will be conducting a one-day, prescribed burn in areas near Park Road and Milford Road. The areas will be closed to the public the day of the burn. Expect to see smoke in t...he area. Please do not call Emergency Communications to report a wildfire. Fire is a natural and vital part of many ecosystems. Fire can restore woodlands that have become overcrowded and heavily shaded, and maintains open areas, such as grasslands, that would otherwise become dominated first by shrubs, and then trees, through natural succession. Fire is also used as a resource management tool to decrease the risk of wildfires. See more
Water conditions at Marsh Creek Lake make the water susceptible to harmful algal blooms throughout the year. Swimming in the lake is not authorized and not recommended. You should wash with soap and water after coming in contact with untreated water when you are kayaking, fishing, paddleboarding, or participating in other lake activities. Dogs are often attracted to algal scum odors and can be poisoned by grooming their fur and paws after coming into contact with algae. Ple...ase keep your dog on a leash to prevent your dog from entering or drinking the water before you have a chance to observe the condition of the water. Please refer to the linked article to learn more about harmful algal blooms. https://www.dep.pa.gov/OurCommonWealth/pages/Article.aspx

The Pennsylvania Department of Conservation and Natural Resources is happy to have partnered with Aidan’s Heart Foundation and receiving a grant for a new AED. This AED will help protect park visitors in multiple State Parks throughout Southeastern PA. The AED will be placed in a Park Ranger vehicle for easy access and deployment during emergencies. AEDs save lives and have been deployed many times by Park Rangers in parks in southeastern Pennsylvania. The grant was written b...y staff at French Creek and Marsh Creek State Parks. The AED will be primarily used at Neshaminy State Park. In this picture Casimir Guzowski, DCNR Ranger, Neshaminy State Park, Mike Kuzar, Assistant Park Manager, Marsh Creek State Park, James Wassell, Park Manage, French Creek State Park Complex, and the new Cardiac Science G3 AED Unit. Thank you Aidan's Heart Foundation for making this grant happen.
The Maintenance staff at Marsh Creek State Park did an excellent job reusing the millings from the paving project to repair the Dorlan Mill parking area. The parking area has been reopened. Thank you for your patience.
The parking lot on Dorlan Mill Road that is commonly used by hikers and mountain bikers will be closed this weekend due to ongoing repairs of the parking lot. You can access the trails from the boat launch area off North Reeds Road. The temporary overflow lot that was established earlier in the summer is still open to accommodate additional parking on the west side of the park. We apologize for any inconvenience.
Hunting is a popular fall activity in Marsh Creek State Park. Hunters wear orange for safety and you should, too!
