Lately I find myself getting distracted with a home practice - an hour feels like an eternity, am I right? Do I really need to do (or teach) one more Crescent Lunge? I know I’m not alone with this. AND I know that what makes me the most present is a good physical challenge. So, two things. I've been working out again (I'm loving the @niketraining app) AND I'm designing new classes. I know a physically strong and vigorous practice can pull us out of our heads and into our ...body. We’re all Zoom fatigued, maybe finding ourselves in a practice-rut, or just in a deep relationship with Bridgeton (who am I kidding? that was over in 2 days!) So, expect some new flair in all my classes but also a new Advancing Series that will start next Thursday and run over the course of the next 3 months, designed for a drop-in playful experience or for the full effect, commit to the whole thing and see how your practice evolves. Just know that I'm limiting space to 12 students so there can be 1:1 instruction. I learned a new word recently that I am in love with: UNICURSAL There is only one path. The way in is the way out. These words are written at the entrance of the labyrinth next to the Mother House (convent) at @chestnuthillcollege. If you’ve never walked a labyrinth before, it’s a circular, spiral of a maze drawing you into the center. The entrance is also the exit - the way in is the way out. In many traditions, the labyrinth is symbolic of the journey into the center of... yourself and then back out into the world. In my New Years Eve class yesterday, I was speaking to the notion that endings and beginnings are thresholds as intimately connected as the inhale and exhale. Necessary (not always easy) parts of life that help us grow and evolve, keep moving forward. That joy and sorrow, birth and death and everything in between are all connected and part of our walk through this world. And the space between, the pause, the consciousness of it all this is part of the alchemic process of transformation. And this is my theme for my classes this month. #transformation As I personally step into the unknown after a year full of unknowns, I trust the path ahead of me and embrace the adventures that await.
