Who’s ready for a story? Me! Me! Me! Today’s book is Can YOU make a SCARY FACE? By: Jan Thomas This book will get your kids moving as I read, so be sure to h...ave a little empty space around them. And as always, my number one rule: YOU MUST HAVE FUN! Feel free to first share the story time song from yesterday to get kids ready. Extension Ideas: 1) Large Motor: Freeze Dance -Need a large empty space and music -Play music while kids dance around -Each time you stop the music, kids must freeze like a statue with a scary face. 2) Large Motor: Bug In My Shirt (wish I could see them do this as it is sure to be full of giggles) -Need a crafting pompom or a small balled up child’s sock for each participant -Child places pompom under neckline of shirt -Children must wiggle and squirm to get the bug out of their shirt without using their hands. -More than one child, then make it a race! Who can release the bug first ? 3)Large Motor: Feather Races -Need a feather, cotton ball or small balloon for each racer -Make a Starting Line and Finishing Line -Who can blow their feather to the finish first? 4)Sorting: The bug is tiny, the frog is giant! Let’s talk sizing! -Need a Bucket of blocks -Sort your blocks by size -Count each pile -Which pile has the most? Least? 5)Fine Motor: Playdoh Bugs -Need Playdoh -Children create bugs out of Playdoh 6)Art: My Scary Face -Need a pre-cut paper head shape, crayons or markers -Children create a scary face, but be sure to include a bug on the nose Check back in tomorrow for another read a loud!

This coming Tuesday November 5th, remember to get out and vote. There are many local positions that are up for grabs. Here is the sample of the ballot, it is ...double sided this time. Study this and make sure you know who to vote for on Tuesday. Voting takes place at the McClure Fire Hall on West Specht Street. There are some areas that we need a write-in, like the McClure Borough Council and Midd-West School Board. If you have any questions about the election please go to this link for more information: http://www.snydercounty.org//ElectionsandVoterRegistration See more
