Despite what society/diet culture tells us, it is OK to eat for emotional reasons. The lone fact that you are coping, during a crisis, is amazing and should be celebrated. When we eat as a coping mechanism we are experiencing distraction, pleasure, memories, community (if you choose to share with others), and feelings of safety/security. You body is also receiving fuel to allow you to keep thinking, moving, and breathing!
