Things are a go for Van Wagner's performance tonight!! The grassy area by the stage is still wet from this week's rain. Wear shoes that you don't mind getting a little wet and muddy. Bring your chair (and probably bug spray)! We'll see you tonight at 7:00pm!

Good things happening in our park!

Disc Golf in Montoursville will be great for our community. It gives people of all ages an exciting new activity to participate in. Tom Smith, the designer of... the course, gave me a tour of the course today. It's lovely and uses many areas of the park that have previously gone unused. This sport will draw people from miles around to visit our community who will also visit our merchants and restaurants. There will be signs soon to guide you through the course. There is also an app named udisc that shows you the holes, par, and distance. See more

We're getting questions about the disc golf course. The group working on the project hopes to have the course complete in June. We will share information here on the course, the rules, etc., but you can also join a Facebook Group they've created to share information. Look for Indian park disc golf and request to join.

***Trick or Treating*** Trick or treating will be held Saturday 10/31/2020 from 6pm to 8pm in Montoursville. If you haven’t heard, you soon will, that President... Trump is coming to the airport in Montoursville at 8pm the same night. This creates some safety concerns for our trick or treaters, so we wanted to address this first before any post about the visit. Based on the Presidential visit last year, we can expect traffic and a lot of people in the Borough. Here are a list of things you should do or consider for you and your child’s safety. 1. Do not let your children trick or treat alone. A trusted adult should be with them at all times. With the increased number of visitors to the community this creates the risk on someone with ill intentions to slip in unnoticed. 2. Provide your child with flashlights, reflective tape/clothing or glow sticks. It is very hard for a motorist to see pedestrians at night. Kids will be distracted and can dart into traffic without warning. Please be extra vigilant over the children entrusted to your care. 3. Studies have shown that children under the age of 12 do not fully understand traffic patterns or flows. This can lead to them walking out in front of traffic thinking it is safe when it is not. Keep a watch over their behavior and look for signs of distraction to anticipate their bad moves. 4. We encourage all trick or treaters to avoid any areas near Broad St and south to the Railroad Tracks. This is where the bulk of the activity will take place for visitors to the campaign event. We view this is a very unsafe location for trick or treaters. Please stay north of Broad St. The further away from heavily traveled streets the better. 5. The Pa State Police has a website that can assist you in identifying Megan’s Law offenders. Please review the list and be aware of their locations. 6. Covid-19 is something to consider and not forget about. Please make an effort to review and follow State recommendations to help keep you and others healthy. 7. Avoid houses that do not have porch lights on. Turning off the porch light is a way for people to let trick or treaters know they are not participating in the holiday. Please respect their wishes. We will still be handing out gift certificates from local businesses to children wearing our favorite costumes. We have a bunch so be ready! We will still be giving our three gift certificates to our favorite decorated houses so put up those displays. We have been asked to warn you about a bear that has been traveling through the Borough during the evening hours. It's 2020 so why wouldn't there be? Buses will be running from the Mall to the event just like last year to eliminate some of the traffic congestion. We will have extra patrols from neighboring Departments and the State Police in town so this is a big safety bonus for us. Please continue with your trick or treating plans. We will be doing everything we can to make it a safe and fun night for you. More posts will follow. Thank you, Mayor Bagwell, Chief Gyurina and Deputy Chief Bentley

Great people and a good business making a difference in Montoursville. Weis Markets has donated two new all-weather benches to Indian park. These are in add...ition to others they have donated in the past. The benches recognize the deceased the Montoursville Volunteers of Indian Park who gave many hours of service to our community. The benches are made of recycled bags. The pictures are of the representatives from Weis Market and the VIPs. See more

Please note that some areas of Indian Park are being closed. Even outside you still should be socially distancing and staying 6 feet away from other people.
