February 18, 2021 Dear Valued Customers, Last week it was announced that the Federal Emergency... Management Agency (FEMA) will provide funeral assistance for deaths associated with the COVID-19 pandemic. It has been widely reported that FEMA plans to reimburse families up to $7,000 for certain qualified COVID-19 related funeral and burial costs including, but not limited to, interment, burial plots/cremation niches, and bronze and granite markers/headstones. The funding will be available for qualified costs incurred between January 20, 2020, and December 31, 2020. According to a recent Congressional press conference, Congress will attempt to extend the funding to funerals taking place in 2021, although that is not final or guaranteed. FEMA will publish details about qualifications and how families can apply for reimbursement in the near future.
