Moravian College Occupational Therapy students are honing their assessment skills with our residents. Students visited Moravian Hall Square campus yesterday to practice assessment testing on real clients. Students will visit Heritage Village residents and Senior Solutions Home Care clients in the coming days. A great opportunity for these students to practice their skills and gain exposure to the world of Geriatrics. We are thrilled to be able to help them on their journey to graduation!

You still have time to register to become a Dementia Friend. This Memory Lane program is a Dementia Friends training session. In this training session, presented by Dementia Friends Champion Wendy Scott, you will learn about dementia and how to turn that learning into action. Residents learned how to ice dye with resident Ginny Hope. The dye was applied yesterday and today the scarves were rinsed to see their masterpieces! Some residents even did dyed tshirts!

Some of our residents who are members of the Nazareth Rotary Club helped to beautify the iconic Circle in the Center of Nazareth. Helen Z., Gordon S. and Taylor E. were part of the Rotarian crew that planted red, white and blue annuals in beds around the monuments and shady areas of this central spot. Thank you for your service to our community.

There is still time to sign up to attend our Morningstar Memory Cafe on Thursday, May 13th, 10am-noon. If you know someone who is caring for a loved one who has a dementia diagnosis they will benefit from attending the Memory Cafe which is held at the Advent Moravian Church in Bethlehem. The Memory Cafe is a free, accessible and welcoming environment for people with dementia and their care partners to gather for fun, socialization and refreshments. Residents from both Heritage Village and Moravian Hall Square campuses participate in our Mountain Warriors Walking Class on the walking trail at Heritage Village. The class, led by our Fitness Instructor Doreen, provides a vigorous walking workout.
