Wishing you and your loved ones a safe and healthy Christmas from all of us at NovaCare!
Join us in congratulating NovaCare’s Veronica Burnazaki, certified hand therapist (CHT), on being recognized by Salus University for her dedication to the occupational therapy profession! She earned the special recognition by demonstrating her passion for hand therapy by hosting fieldwork students and sharing her experience and clinical knowledge. Veronica has been a CHT since 2016 and sees patients at our Cedarbrook and Soudertown locations.

Surgery can be an extremely daunting experience, especially during these challenging times. If you’re feeling anxious about an upcoming procedure or simply don’t want to put your surgery on hold, trying physical therapy first can reduce aches and pains and, in some cases, avoid the need for surgery altogether. Today, Jill Frickey, DPT, education architect for Select Medical’s Outpatient Division, explains how pre-surgical rehabilitation can help you! #NPTM2020 #ThePowerOfPhysicalTherapy

Not only is October National Physical Therapy Month, it’s also Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Throughout the month, our team members have shown their support and encouragement for all those affected by breast cancer through the #realmenwearpink campaign. Hosted by the American Cancer Society Making Strides Against Breast Cancer participants fundraise and bring awareness to breast cancer by wearing pink. These fundraising efforts help support ground-breaking breast cancer research, early detection efforts and families and loved ones impacted by the disease. As you can see, our amazing team members have gone above and beyond for this great cause. We’re proud to be Making Strides Against Breast Cancer. Thank you to all our team members, patients and community members who participated! #NPTM2020 #FeelGoodFriday #BreastCancerAwareness

We love seeing athletes recover from injuries and get back to their favorite sports after working with our physical therapists. Long-time Chicago Area Runners Association runner and marathoner Lena Park overcame a foot injury last year with help from Beth Williamson, DPT, center manager at our Oak Park, IL location. "There is a lot to build upon." We think so too! We can't wait for a big win on Sunday.
While our physical therapists improve the quality of life in our patients, we also lend a hand to improve the quality of life for those who are less fortunate. Our Pittsburgh community hosted a food drive supporting a local church and food bank. Team members collected a variety of foods and non-perishable items to help the community during this challenging time. Thank you to all who participated and donated items! #FeelGoodFriday #NPTM2020
