Psalm 105:1-4 1 Give praise to the Lord, proclaim his name; make known among the nations what he has done. 2 Sing to him, sing praise to him; tell of all his wonderful acts. ... 3 Glory in his holy name; let the hearts of those who seek the Lord rejoice. 4 Look to the Lord and his strength; seek his face always. During this period of social distancing, one of the things we have put into place to connect with students are our Zoom Small Groups. We get to meet with small groups of students and go through a devotional together. It's been awesome to connect with students and watch them grow in their faith a little more each week. Last week one of the things we talked about was the importance of giving God thanks. We took a few minutes to talk about specific things that God had blessed us with, and it was so up-lifting. I was absolutely exhausted that night as we started small groups, it had been a long day. But as we started to give God praise for the incredible things He has done in each of our lives, something transformative happened in me. I felt full of energy, positivity and excitement. Meeting with those girls and hearing about the good things that God had done in each of their lives put me in such an incredible mood and gave me an insane amount of energy. That's what happens when believers get together to give God praise, they receive joy and peace. This Psalm goes in depth about how God had delivered and protected the Israelites from harm. It talks about how powerful, constant and holy God is. It's so important that we remember what God has done in each of our lives. When we do that we remind ourselves of His power, control and love for us, and it gives us peace about our future. When we gather as a group to praise God, we're sharing that joy and peace with others as well. I challenge you to everyday take a few moments to praise God for what He's doing in your life. It'll help remind you of all the times that God has taken care of you in the past, give you peace and draw you closer to Him. And remember to share what God has done in your life with those around you, to help encourage them as well.
